It was beautiful but we didn&#39;t have enough time. You need a full day. We only had a few hours so we took an ATV tour which the teenagers enjoyed but was a bit bumpy, dusty and not as fun as I had hoped! I think the experience would have been better with a cable car ride.

This is a huge volcano in Sicily. You can go by jeep or by quad on its black rocks and see, if you are lucky, an eruption.

You can drive directly to the cable car point Rifugi Alpini Sapienza (latitude and longitude 37.700520, 14.998368) of Mount Etna.
The parking spaces next to the cable car point are free. You can take the cable car to Terminal Funivia mt. at 2500 meters (30 euros for round trip), and you can also hike this section.
After reaching the end of the cable car at 2500 meters, you can take a bus directly to the crater at 2900 meters (30 euros for round trip, 16 euros for one way), and you can also hike this section. The hiking time is about 4 hours round trip. The cable car stops early in winter, at 4 pm, so you must arrange your time when hiking. It will be troublesome if you miss the cable car to go down the mountain.
When there is danger ahead, it is a fairyland when you turn around. The conjoined volcano brothers in the distance are so beautiful in the clouds!

It was amazing~ After going down the mountain, we leisurely tasted the regional limited pistachio pasta and drank a cup of strong coffee in the mountaintop restaurant. The Etna active volcano adventure itinerary was really wonderful~
