Nice, on the Cote d'Azur in southern France, has charming sea views. The center of Nice's old town is Place Massena. The statue of the sun god and the fountain are in the center of the square, very close to the Bay of Angels.
A large circular square, good for walking and relaxing, with sculptures and fountains, and many children playing in the water. There are many roads radiating out to the surrounding areas. There is a real estate agency nearby where you can check the local housing prices.
Place Massena is named after the imperial marshal Andre Massena. It was originally 2 squares:
1. Place Carlo Alberto was built in 1820-1830.
2. Place Massena, which is located on the other side of the Palonge River, is built in 18th century style from 1840 to 1852.
The south of Place Massena is the Old Town of Nice, and the north is the rue Jean-Medson. The central part is covered by the Palonge River bed, and the west is adjacent to the Alberto Garden. The Nice Light Rail Line 1 has two stations, Massena and Opera House. The northern half of the Place Massena is rectangular, and the southern half is semicircular. The ground is covered with black and white stones to form a grid shape.
Walking north from the Opera House in the old town of Nice, passing Avenue Jean-Medsay, you will reach Place Massena, where there is a tourist information center.
