The Temple of Philae, situated on the tranquil banks of the Nile, this ancient Greek-Roman temple attracts visitors from all over the world with its superb architectural art and rich historical stories. Under the sunset, the stone pillars and murals of the temple are more mysterious and solemn, making people seem to have passed through the glory days of ancient Egypt. [View] Compared with the pyramid, it is slightly inferior, but the overall is good [Fun] Fun [Cost-effective] Very cost-effective
The Philae Temple is located in Aswan, Egypt. It was built on Philae Island in the Nile River south of Aswan City. It is dedicated to the goddess of love Isis. The Philae Temple complex you see today is not in its original location. After the Aswan Dam was built to store water, the temples were almost completely submerged. Since 1972, the Egyptian government has built a cofferdam around the temples to drain the river water in the cofferdam, and then dismantled the temples into more than 45,000 stones and more than 100 stone columns, and moved them to Aeglica Island, 500 meters north of Philae Island, as they were, and later opened them to the world.

I have just returned from my trip to Aswan Dam, which is not only an outstanding feat of engineering, but also a profound reflection of Egyptian history and culture. Standing on the dam, I felt as if I could feel the ancient legends and stories that flowed through the Nile beneath it. The service of the visitor center was also very attentive, with detailed information and comfortable seating area. Definitely recommended to every traveler to Egypt, not to be missed!
The dam is a clay core rockfill dam with a maximum dam height of 111m. When the maximum water level is 183m, the total reservoir capacity is 168.9 billion m3, the total installed capacity of the power station is 2.1 million kW, and the designed annual power generation is 10 billion kW·h. The project started on January 9, 1960, the first unit was put into operation on October 15, 1967, and all units were installed and put into operation on July 15, 1970. The project was completed in the same year.

This attraction is not large and 30 minutes is enough to visit it. The biggest attractions are the 4,000-year-old quarry and the world's largest obelisk from 3,500 years ago. Walk from the Nile River to the unfinished obelisk less than 20 minutes, but the Google navigation route is wrong ❌. The place you finally walked to is a residential area. The ticket office is on the main road near the museum. You can refer to my markings on the Google map, or you can use Google Map to search the location coordinates 📍24°04’38.8”N 32°53‘39.7“E📍 This is the specific location of the ticket office. I hope it helps you. More travel information, please check my YouTube channel @ivanstrips
The quarry is surrounded by buildings. After walking up a flight of stairs to a higher place, you will see the stone tablet lying on the ground, as if it had been placed in a pit. There are grooves around it, as if they had been polished with water, and there are gaps on the stone tablet.

Learn about the development of the Nubian region from prehistoric times to the present day. At the entrance to the museum, there is a large model of the Nile Valley, marking the locations of the main temples. The museum also specifically demonstrates the changes in the Nile River and the process of relocating the affected monuments in the dam area when the Aswan Dam was built.
The Nubian Museum is a famous natural and historical museum in Aswan. It is suitable for bringing your partner and is worth experiencing for everyone. This museum is good, with a large courtyard that is well equipped. There is an area in the exhibition area for the preparation and purchase of Nubian women's handicrafts, which is quite interesting.

Nubian village is a must stop in Aswan. Across the Nile River from main town, it has a completely different feel from Egyptian cities. The people are incredibly friendly. Be sure to get a snack or two while you are there as well.
I love this colorful village and it's friendly people. Take a boat ride on the Nile to go explore this beautiful village. Try their cuisine at one of their restaurants and take beautiful pictures of the colorful houses.

There are two small piers to go to Koh Chang, one of which is at the entrance "next to" KFC. The 5 pounds you pay is already the round trip fare, so you don't need to pay when you return to the other side [Proud] This is a small island Nubi Where Nubia lives, there are B&Bs, high-end hotels, coffee shops and attractions on the island, which can be visited in half a day. We walked around for about half a day, but we couldn't find the way to the Movenpick Hotel [sad] But it's okay anyway, come to Koh Chang when you come to Aswan and visit Koh Chang. When traveling to Aswan, you must visit the Abu Simbel Temple. The Abu Simbel Temple is located south of Aswan, Egypt. It is located on the shores of Lake Nasser and is one of the most famous temples in Egypt. There are many temples in Egypt, and the movie "Death on the Nile" introduced many temples.
Aswan Railway Station is an old railway station with a history of more than 100 years. It is an important transportation hub for trains to Luke, Cairo, and other places. You can take the train from here through Egypt, and many famous attractions are the best routes for trains through Egypt.

The Kalabsa Temple is a very small temple in Aswan. Although it is not very big, the sculptures in front of the temple are well preserved. The lighting in the temple is not very good, and you need to use a flashlight or candle to enter, which adds a lot of mystery.
The temple has been buried under 12 meters of sand and silt from the Nile River, making it immune to the threat of river flooding and the only well-preserved ancient temple building in Egypt. The Eagle God, Egypt's patron god, is enshrined here. It was one of the most important temples in Egypt at the time, with exquisite murals and a wonderful light show at night.

You can visit it when you go to Elephantine Island. The old museum is the residence of the architect of the Aswan Dam, built in the late 19th century. The museum now mainly exhibits exhibits related to the Aswan Dam, as well as artifacts excavated from the nearby Abu City ruins archaeological site, including mummies, weapons, pottery and statues.
This museum is small and modest, but very distinctive. The museum mainly displays the history and cultural development of the Nubians living in Aswan, which is very interesting for understanding this nation.
