The Qutang Gorge is beautiful! The boat trip was great, but Baidi Island was a bit of a filler. It was boring and newly built, just for show. After a long climb, I was speechless. The Three Gorges are truly beautiful, and the wonders of nature are always captivating! The only thing that's lost is the dam, which made the water so calm and still. It's a bit of a loss of the gorge's soul.
Personally, I think the entrance fee to the scenic spot is too high and the playability is relatively low. I suggest that friends who go there should have a tour guide to explain, otherwise it will be boring to wander around by yourself! Those who like history can go there. I am obsessed with Li Bai's poems, so I went there 🤣🤣

Now is the off-season, the price is relatively cheap, the total tour time is 3.5 hours, the scenery is pleasant, although there are no red leaves, but the mountains and rivers, embrace nature, feel the magic of nature. You can come again when the mountains are covered with red leaves.
The whole journey takes 4 hours, so you need to plan ahead. The scenery of Xiao Sanxia is very good, the water is very clean, and the tour guide introduced it in detail. I recommend buying chicken jerky on the return trip, which tastes good. It is still a bit hot to visit during the summer vacation. The 816 project is worth a visit. It's the world's largest underground engineering project, with a nearly complete excavation of the mountain. The cost was enormous, and the scene was truly breathtaking! I admire the builders of the 1960s and 1970s, whose silent dedication and selfless devotion put national interests above all else. I salute these pioneers! It's a shame that due to time constraints, I didn't get to see the performance live.
The place where Bureau 749 was filmed was a secret nuclear project that disappeared from the map for 18 years. It was not completed due to various reasons. Now it is open as a tourist attraction. More than 60,000 people were involved in the construction of such a huge underground space. The shocking sight inside was so strong that one could even reach the bottom of the nuclear reactor.

I didn't make a reservation for the Three Gorges Museum. I bought a ticket for the special exhibition and went in directly. I was a little curious about the Dazu Rock Carvings, but I think this exhibition could have been better.

The core scenic area is very stunning. Going early when the weather is good is very photogenic. It was already 4 o'clock when we entered and it was drizzling. The scenic area staff was very good and asked the last bus to wait for us. The staff were enthusiastic to answer any questions we had on the way.
I went there with my kids at the end of August. The Wuling Mountain Grand Canyon Scenic Area opened at 8:30. We were the first group of tourists, so there weren't many people. We took a bus to the entrance of the mountaintop scenic area. We chose to hike down the mountain for about 3 hours. It was a very easy walk, the air was excellent, and the scenery was beautiful and breathtaking! There was a shuttle bus along the way, and then we took a large 40-person cable car up the mountain to the bus location and took the ride down the mountain. It was perfect.

Definitely recommend doing this. Was so much fun. I’m from the UK and need to stress that THE ENTRANCE IS ON 1F of raffles city mall and was hard to find as a tourist, so go early to make sure you find it! There is no specific time for your tickets, but would recommend going up at sundown so you get views of the city in the day and in the night. Handy info for tourists: the glass bottom area is free (currently as of August 2025), the lockers are free for bags and wallets etc but are small so don’t bring much with you, there are big lockers but the system is in Chinese so be prepared to translate it all. The skywalk is a separate price from just going up to the observation deck and is worth paying for as there’s not much price difference. You can take a phone out and up with you so you can take photos. You can get the iconic sitting down shot halfway down the platform don’t crowd the turning as people often do this, and if you go further down you will have more time for photos! Enjoy
I stopped by Chongqing on my way there, but I'd already done most of the fun in Chongqing. I saw it online and decided to give it a try. U1S1 is a little bit exciting, but not that exciting... It's better to come at night, which is easier on the eyes. It's too sunny during the day and there's no beautiful lighting, so it feels like something is missing~

Overall it's ok. I brought my children here to see it. The underwater Baiheliang is quite clear. The escalator of more than 90 meters is also quite deep. The number of people in the underwater part is controlled. I feel that the explanation tour on the second floor is purely to prolong the time and is relatively boring.
