I ate at Guaxixi Hongyadong last year and it was OK. Recently I heard that a new store opened and it was quite popular, so I went there to order a plate. To avoid the long queue, I arrived at Cotton Street at 11 o'clock. The store was easy to find and much bigger than the old one. There was no queue, so I found a window seat. Slightly spicy is my minimum standard. The wooden nine-square grid is pressed with pebbles, which looks funny. The dishes were served in small plates. I thought it was not enough, but I didn't finish it at all. The freshly braised dishes were good, and the tendons and pig's trotters were delicious. But at noon, the braised chef was lazy and the braised lotus root didn't come out until 13:30 when I left. It was a pity that I didn't get to eat it. The freshly shredded tripe and fish and shrimp paste were also good. The shrimp paste might be better in the clear soup of the shuangyang pot.
