There are many buildings worth evaluating in Wunuzhou Scenic Area. They integrate traditional Huizhou architecture with modern design concepts and carry rich cultural connotations. The following is an introduction to some of the main buildings I visited:
Baoyu Tower
- Architectural features: It is built with traditional mortise and tenon structure, round outside and square inside. The tower has seven floors, unique shape and exquisite craftsmanship.
- Cultural connotation: It means holding jade, and the jade lies in sincerity, and its sincerity comes from reason. It represents the pure and good character in human nature. The internal Neo-Confucian space shows the development of Neo-Confucianism.
Wenchang Bookstore
- Architectural features: The architectural style is simple and elegant, with strong Huizhou architectural characteristics, white walls, black tiles, horse head walls and other elements are all available, and the interior decoration is exquisite, creating a strong cultural atmosphere.
- Cultural connotation: The museum displays a portrait of Confucius and a plaque with the words "Merchant for Confucianism", which condenses the spirit of the century-old Huizhou merchants. It also displays cultural treasures such as Sheyan. There is a tea shop on the left side of the front hall, which reflects the tea culture, one of the four major industries operated by Huizhou merchants.
Tea Saint Leisure Area
- Architectural Features: It includes the Tea Saint Jingshe Hotel, Fangpo Tea Pavilion, Tea Saint Museum and other buildings, all of which are designed as single-family villas, built by the lake, surrounded by ancient trees, with layers of buildings and courtyards, full of oriental aesthetic interest.
- Cultural Connotation: With tea culture as the theme, visitors can taste tea and discuss Taoism, make friends with tea, feel the inheritance of the thousand-year tea ceremony, and understand the past and present of Wuyuan green tea and the story of Huizhou and tea.
Huizhou Wedding Customs Museum
- Architectural Features: The exterior of the building has a typical Huizhou style, and the interior vividly reproduces all aspects of Huizhou wedding customs through scene restoration and physical display.
- Cultural connotation: It allows tourists to have a deep understanding of the traditional wedding culture in Huizhou area. From marriage proposal to wedding reception, from marriage to marriage, and then to the wedding ceremony, every detail carries rich folk cultural connotations.
Floating Golden Pavilion
- Architectural features: The building has a unique shape, as if it is suspended above the water, which complements the surrounding landscape. When the lights are on at night, the Golden Pavilion water curtain performs a 3D Mapping show, which is a beautiful combination of virtual and real.
- Cultural connotation: It is one of the landmark buildings in the scenic area and an important place for holding various performances and activities, bringing tourists a unique visual experience.
