The weather wasn't kind. After traveling over a thousand kilometers, I encountered a rainy day. The dense fog limited the view, which was quite a disappointment, but it also had a unique charm. The thick fog made the mountain scenery even more ethereal and mysterious. With so few tourists, it felt like exploring a fairyland. Besides the autumnal mountain scenery, the ancient architecture was also a highlight. The caisson murals on the eaves of the Yangtai Palace are unique in Henan Province. Even the Nantianmen and Ying'en Palace are worth seeing as ancient architectural masterpieces. Although it was the National Day holiday, there were no waiting times for the sightseeing buses and cable cars, and the other painless mountain climbing facilities were also sparsely populated. The experience was excellent.

During the holiday, we arrived at Luya Mountain in about 2.5 hours from Taiyuan.
Seasonal Activities: We visited a free attraction. The villages surrounding Luya Mountain are all alpine meadows, with beautiful scenery and herds of cattle and sheep. It was a very pleasant experience.
Route P: We recommend Damiao Village and Houmalun Village, which you'll pass by on the way to the Malen Grassland. It's a bit cold now, so wear a jacket.
If you drive there, the parking fee is 10 yuan. You can purchase a sightseeing bus to and from the ice cave for 5 yuan each way. You can also walk up. The lower part of the ice cave is a staircase, with a single route in and out. The ice cave has a variety of lighting. It's best to wear warm clothing; if you don't have any, there are rentals available in the parking lot.

The forest coverage rate in Shaohua Mountain Scenic Area is super high. Take the Jingjiao car to Shimenxia, enter the hiking route, shuttle among the dense woods, listen to birds singing, watch squirrels jump, and luckily find some rare plants. This feeling of being close to nature is great.

The Yuntaishan Scenic Area Visitor Center is quite far from the scenic area. The scenic bus takes nearly 20 minutes to reach Hongshi Gorge. If you're driving during non-holidays, it's recommended to park at the shore service area or other parking areas.
The main attractions are Hongshi Gorge, Xiaozhaigou, and Zhuyu Peak. Xiaozhaigou is divided into three smaller areas. It would take at least two days to explore all of them.
The scenery is beautiful, and the scenic area is well managed. During the National Day holiday, the scenic bus service didn't have to wait long.

The night before, I stayed in a nearby guesthouse. I walked in as soon as the door opened. I followed the staff up the mountain by car. It was basically a chartered car. The driver was very enthusiastic and explained everything to us along the way. When it was time, he stopped the car and let us get off to play. There was no crowded scenic area. It was so comfortable.
The scenery of Taohua Valley is very beautiful, with many waterfalls, beautiful! The next few sightseeing buses took a long time. I have never taken such a long sightseeing bus in any scenic area. The driver of our bus drove as fast as a roller coaster. It was worth the fare.

The scenery is beautiful and the activities are fun. The scenery after the rain is amazing, even thicker than the clouds on Mount Huashan. The glass bridge is very high and exciting, it made me dizzy, hahaha. The ice cave is beautiful, formed 3 million years ago, it's spectacular and eye-opening.
It was beautiful and fun. It was raining when we were climbing, so I hadn't had much hope, but it stopped and it was really nice. The glass bridge was thrilling, and the photos from it were even better. The ice cave was amazing. I miss the winter in Northeast China.
