There's a reason why tourist attractions become tourist attractions. I recommend Chongzuo Detian Waterfall and Dongnayu Bay. The combined ticket is quite cost-effective and valid for two days. Remember to exchange the combined ticket for a paper boat ticket after visiting Dongnayu Bay. Also, I think the food at Detian Waterfall Scenic Area is better than restaurants near the scenic area; the prices are reasonable and the food is really good. I had a baguette sandwich (basically a baguette with meat filling) at the Sino-Vietnamese Style Street, which was surprisingly delicious. At the Sino-Vietnamese Cross-Border Street, at the restaurant at the top, I ordered Vietnamese pho and chicken, which were also really good. It had a proper kitchen, and the food had a nice wok hei (wok aroma). 👍 The "Tusi Yuping" food stall at Dongnayu Bay has many snacks; the cold noodles and cold skin noodles are quite good. I especially recommend the brown sugar ginger water, which is great for warming up and dispelling dampness after hiking. I bought several kilograms of brown sugar there; it's 15 yuan per kilogram. Families from Beihai, Guangxi, who were traveling with me also bought a lot as souvenirs; it was indeed very authentic. 👍
I chose to go during winter break, a season that locals ridiculed, so the low water level was to be expected. However, it's still worth seeing when the upstream releases water. The management and traffic at the scenic area were somewhat unsatisfactory; if you don't arrive very early, you could easily spend several hours in the parking lot, so be sure to go early to avoid peak hours.

As a national 5A-level scenic area and a World Natural Heritage site, it features karst landforms and integrates mountains, water, forests, caves, lakes, and waterfalls, earning it the reputation of "the emerald on the Earth's belt." The overall experience is serene, dynamic, and richly layered, suitable for photography, hiking, and family water activities.
The highlights of the scenic area are concentrated along the Xiangshui River: the ancient Xiaoqikong Bridge built in 1835; the cascading Laya Waterfall; 68 waterfalls densely distributed along a 1.6-kilometer stretch of the river; the emerald-green Wolongtan (Sleeping Dragon Pool); the Yuanyang Lake, accessible by boat; and the "water forest" where "water flows through the forest." From October to December each year, the red spider lilies bloom extensively in the valley, adding a seasonal romance. The entire area offers a constantly changing landscape, with the water's color displaying multi-layered blue-green gradations depending on the light and water volume, making for excellent photo opportunities. The park is open from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Adult tickets are typically NT$120 (excluding the sightseeing bus), which must be purchased separately (subject to daily announcements). The area is quite large, consisting of 18 interconnected hills, and there are shuttle buses on different routes! We visited the Orchid Garden and Shade-loving Botanical Garden near the North Gate, and then took the miniature train to the East Gate, where we strolled from Monet's Garden all the way to the East Gate exit!

Memories of the Li River Scenery
This time, I chose the Ctrip-themed cruise ship "Y0Y0 Happy Cruise," departing from Zhujiang Wharf in Guilin and sailing to Longtoushan Wharf in Yangshuo, a journey of about 4 hours. Following the guide, I enjoyed the scenery along the way; the landscape before my eyes was like a series of vivid landscape paintings. I finally experienced firsthand the charm of "Guilin's scenery is the best under heaven," and understood many famous scenic spots.
1. What's hidden in Yangdi's scenery?
Yangdi is the first scenic area after the Li River flows into Yangshuo. Here, both banks are lined with uniquely shaped peaks, and the bamboo along the river is lush and verdant. Sailing downstream, lifelike mountain landscapes such as Embroidered Mountain Walls, Carp Hanging on the Walls, and Children Worshipping Guanyin come into view, as if stepping into a flowing landscape painting. Occasionally, wisps of smoke rise from the mountain villages, cormorants busily fish in the water, splashing water everywhere, and cattle and sheep bleat and moo on the mountains, creating a vibrant and wild atmosphere.
2. Can you really see nine horses at Nine Horses Painting Mountain?
That magnificent cliff, hundreds of meters high, is the famous Nine Horses Painting Mountain. The "nine horses" on the cliff are not real horses, but rather natural patterns and colors formed by the rocks. How many horses you can see depends entirely on the time of day, angle, weather, and whether you have a detailed guide. Most people can usually only see 3 to 5. A folk song goes: "Horse watcher, horse watcher, how many pairs of horses are there? Seeing seven makes you a runner-up, seeing nine makes you a champion."
3. Is comparing a 20 RMB note to the mountain peak enough?

The park is quite large. If you have enough time, it is recommended that you come early in the afternoon to play the park's entertainment projects first. There are two in the Devil City😂, with food and entertainment. It is recommended to watch the performance around 16:30 and then enjoy the night view of the park. If it is a holiday, the entertainment projects may not end until 23:00 in the evening😂, so you can feel that the ticket price is very worthwhile🤩
