The park is right outside the subway station. The coral pavilion is on the right side of the main gate. Don't go back. There is a mermaid show in the Polar Pavilion. The time is posted next to the performance venue, so it's easy to miss it if you don't pay attention. I went there on a rainy day, so there were not many people. The sea lion show was outdoors, with a tent for the stands, and the actors also performed in the rain. The little animals were adorable, cute and smart. The roller coaster stopped because of the rain, and I didn't go to the Bird's Singing Forest.
Let's get to the highlights first. The beluga whale and dolphin shows at the Aquarium and the sea lion show at Happy Valley were both very entertaining. The Aquarium had live interaction at the beginning and during the show, and the show had a storyline, leaving me wanting more. The Happy Valley sea lion show also had live interaction, and the sea lions and performers were excellent. Both performers were very hardworking and each had unique skills! The Aquarium and Polar Pavilion didn't have as many animal species as the Sun Asia, nor were they as large as the Sun Asia. Without the underwater tunnel, they weren't as impressive as the Sun Asia! Now let's talk about the things that affected the experience. Even after buying a full ticket, there are still separate pavilions and attractions within the venue, which also affected the experience. The marine animal pavilion had a very limited variety of animals, the coral pavilion didn't have many corals, and some of the tanks were empty. Also, the Bird's Singing Forest is a bit far away, making the walk time and effortless. Taking the cable car would have almost covered the cost of the ticket.

The Dalian Forest Zoo is amazing! The environment is beautiful, like a natural oxygen bar, and there's a huge variety of animals, from adorable giant pandas to mighty lions and tigers. The free-range area is a fantastic interactive experience, allowing you to observe the animals up close. The park is clean, the service is attentive, and the whole experience was relaxing and enjoyable. It's definitely a top choice for a family trip, highly recommended! 👍
It's a good place to bring children to play. There are all kinds of small animals and they can interact. If you bring carrots, you must cut them into small strips, otherwise they can't bite them, and the children may not be able to walk. Everything else is good.

This area is well worth a visit. It has an aquarium and an underwater world (including an underwater tunnel). Dalian Sun Asia Ocean World, located within Xinghai Park, also offers other attractions.
There's also the Xinghai Bay beach for playful swimming. It's a great place to take children.
I took my children there at the end of the holiday, and there were still a lot of people. While avoiding the heat, I also let my children learn about marine life. It was the most regrettable arrangement in the hot summer! Both adults and children were not tired.

I think it's definitely worth the trip. Thirteen years ago, my company organized a group trip to Discovery Kingdom, but I was pregnant at the time and missed out, which was quite a shame. Finally, today, our family of four was able to make the trip. We even bought children's tickets for 39 yuan. I used my teaching certificate to get a ticket for 9.1 yuan. My husband and eldest daughter bought teacher and family tickets for 130 yuan each. For a full day of fun, our family spent a total of 308 yuan. It was a fantastic deal. Yesterday, it was cloudy, so the park was incredibly quiet. The lines for popular rides were only 20 minutes. For rides like the roller coaster, the pendulum, and the long, spinning ride, there were no lines at all.
My youngest daughter is 155cm tall, and she enjoyed all the rides. I've read reviews saying that many of the extra-cost rides were bad, but I didn't feel that way because we were overwhelmed by the free rides and didn't try any of the optional ones.
If such a good deal is available in the future, we'll definitely go again. At the end of this winter break, we went to Universal Studios Beijing, and our family of four spent over 1,400 yuan on tickets. Discovery Kingdom was a much better value for money.
Discovering Kingdom Castle was such a pleasant surprise! The European-style castle architecture looked like something straight out of a fairy tale, with intricate brick and stone carvings that were truly captivating. During the day, there were parades with floats and lively actors. At night, the light show turned on, and the entire castle was ablaze with color, accompanied by music that made it look like a magical movie. The attractions were also fun, from the thrilling roller coaster to the family-friendly magic games, it was a blast and absolutely worth the price of admission!

The scenery at night is beautiful, but there are so many people. It rained when I went there, and it was crowded. I took some photos. The boat was closed, but if you walk along the water city, you will reach Donggang. There are concerts in the evening. There is also a check-in spot on Gangdong Fifth Street where you can take the 201 tram.
Oriental Water City is built with quite unique features. You can walk around during the day. In the evening, many Dalian-style restaurants are open. It is good for dinner, drinks and relaxation.
It takes about 10 minutes to take an electric boat. The scenery along the way is still quite beautiful, but the boat is a bit fast and you can't enjoy it slowly.
On that day, the full ticket for those over 1 meter was 60 yuan, and those under 1 meter were free but could not occupy seats. I don't know why I could only buy one ticket on Ctrip that day, and the other two were bought on the mini program. Ctrip can adjust this.

Before checking in at the Dalian Shell Museum, I have visited shell museums in other places. In comparison, I feel that the shell museum in Dalian is richer. There seems to be free explanations at every hour. If you want to listen to the explanations, you can choose the time. The venue is not very small, and it takes an hour to walk around it.
Because it was summer, there were quite a lot of people, which made the experience a little worse. The air conditioning in some halls was not very cool. The exhibits were quite rich. If the environment was improved, it would be nice to walk around slowly.

There should still be something to see during the day, so we took a taxi directly to the subway station and didn't have to walk down the mountain.

As expected, once you travel during a holiday, places will be overcrowded. I traveled during the May holiday, so there were many people. However, it was still enjoyable. The grounds seem clean and the lifeguards are very attentive. Would recommend for off season.

I went to the Dalian Lushun Submarine Museum out of admiration, but I wasn't expecting so many visitors. There were lines for tickets and tours, and there were many buses parked nearby, arriving and leaving every now and then. It was packed with people from all over, especially students. It was clear that people were very interested in military and national defense, especially the navy. I recommend buying tickets in advance and arriving early.
Stepping in here, I was instantly shocked by the submarine's "big feeling". Drilled into the submarine's interior, in the narrow space, old instruments and beds lined up in turn, as if you can touch the life temperature of the sailors in the past.
