I managed to book a tour with the professional and enthusiastic Ms. Bing, along with a gentle and genuine female travel companion. It was the off-season, so there weren't many people, making for a fantastic experience at the Longmen Grottoes. Ms. Bing guided us through history on foot, across a thousand years with our eyes, through culture with our touch, and through faith through stories. She deeply moved me, a novice to grottoes, with the genuine love and dedication of the people of Luoyang to the Longmen Grottoes. The 3.5-hour guided tour left me wanting more. Ms. Bing is truly a treasure of a guide. If you manage to book her, give her a shout-out, just like I did – she absolutely deserves it.
This is my second visit, and the experience is different. Seeing all the caves empty is a bit of a disappointment. So, just like every individual, a country must become strong to avoid being bullied.

I must say, Kaifeng really knows how to have fun. The Qingming Riverside Landscape Garden could easily keep you entertained for three days. It left a very deep impression; the trash cans were constantly being emptied, and you couldn't see a single cigarette butt. There was always toilet paper in the restrooms. This level of scenic area management deserves full marks.
In winter, Qingming Riverside Landscape Garden not only features the still-brilliant International Chrysanthemum Exhibition, but also offers hundreds of immersive performances daily, two themed interactive events with thousands of NPCs, a Chinese-style amusement park, and many other exciting activities, fully recreating the prosperity of Bianjing (Kaifeng) in the Northern Song Dynasty and the charm of Song culture.

I forgot to collect my beer, and the ticket discounts weren't great, they just gave me an extra bottle of beer. It happened to be Saturday, so there were a lot of students on a field trip, and the cable car was incredibly crowded; it took over an hour to get on the Yunjing Cableway. The Golden Summit was beautiful.

I've been getting short video feeds pushed to me every day, and this time it finally came! It truly lives up to its name as a "short video shooting studio"—a 500-acre park with nearly a hundred performances daily, and unlimited access for three days! I really loved it! The shows were all incredibly moving and well-made, and the entire park was beautifully designed. It's definitely worth spending a whole day there. If possible, avoid holidays for an even better experience! 😍
I spent the entire day, from 9:30 in the morning to 8:00 in the evening, inside that place called Henan, surrounded by tall yellow walls, binge-watching shows in a rush. It was an experience that was well worth the money.

It was a pleasant surprise. I visited the Confucius Temple and Confucius Mansion on the first day, but I was a bit tired, so I didn't go to the Confucius Cemetery. I thought my combined ticket for the three Confucius sites would be invalid on the second day, but on a whim, I opened the QR code on the combined ticket, and it was still valid for entry, which was a pleasant surprise.
The Dacheng Hall of the Confucius Temple, along with the Hall of Supreme Harmony in the Forbidden City and the Song Tiankuang Hall of the Dai Temple, are known as the three great halls of the East. With its double-eaved roofs, upturned eaves, carved beams and painted rafters, it is resplendent in gold and green. The architectural style of the Confucius Mansion is typical of the integration of official residence and private quarters in feudal China. The mansion's rear garden features mountains, water, forests, winding bridges, and other landscapes arranged in a harmonious and orderly manner, dotted with pavilions and towers.

Shaolin Temple is located in Dengfeng, nearly two hours' drive from both Zhengzhou and Luoyang, so be sure to plan your trip in advance.
Upon entering the scenic area, the first stop is a Shaolin martial arts performance. Even in the off-season, you need to queue for half an hour in advance. We arrived late, and all the seats were taken, with even fewer on the second floor. We simply found a spot on the first floor and stood against the wall to watch.
Further on, you reach the actual Shaolin Temple. At this time of year, the thousand-year-old ginkgo trees inside are a vibrant yellow, perfectly complementing the red walls and gray tiles of the surrounding buildings.
Next to the temple is the Pagoda Forest, the final resting place of eminent monks throughout history.
Next to the Pagoda Forest, there's a sightseeing cable car going up the mountain for 100 yuan round trip. Unfortunately, we had booked a vehicle in advance and didn't have time to go, so we just took the sightseeing bus directly from there, which was a bit of a disappointment. If you want to go up the mountain, you should allow at least 5 hours.
Awesome! Must-see attraction for martial arts lovers! It's more than just a temple, it's an entire scenic area including mountains, monasteries and nunneries. One day won't be enough if you want to explore more than just Shaolin temple. My favorite place was the pagoda forest and you MUST check out the kung fu shows at the academy. There are also lots of places to eat and by souvenirs too which is convenient.

The scenic area has a nice environment, with many small shows and interactive activities, making it quite interesting and worth visiting. However, the unlicensed tricycles operating at the entrance lowered the overall impression. Transportation needs improvement, and the tricycle drivers overcharge passengers, which is very unsafe.
Kaifeng Prefecture is neither too big nor too small; a quick visit will take you fast, but a thorough look will require some time. There are performances, so check the schedule beforehand to avoid missing them. It's quite famous, but the value for money is average.

The guided tour package was definitely worth it; the tour guide was fantastic, contacting us a day in advance to let us know the meeting time and place for the next day. The explanations on the day of the tour were very detailed, and she also explained the nearby Imperial Edict Museum and Dian Shi Garden very thoroughly. Oh, by the way, the entire scenic area is quite large, so I recommend allowing at least half a day and wearing very comfortable shoes to prepare for a lot of walking.
It's fun, and the ancient tomb feels incredibly realistic. The location is a bit remote, which is understandable. If the tortoise-shaped seal on the souvenir item could be made a little more appealing, it would be even more desirable.
