I regret not choosing a day with ghosts!! Missing out on four haunted houses and the festive atmosphere was a shame. It wasn't too crowded that day; only the Transformers attraction had a one-hour wait, the rest were quick, under 30 minutes. The Harry Potter attraction even had no queue, I went straight in. Overall, the atmosphere was a bit worse than Universal Studios Osaka.
Universal Studios Beijing boasts stunning scenery and highly realistic recreations of movie scenes; the rides are incredibly fun, especially the Harry Potter area, which is brimming with magical charm. The environment is clean but crowded. The value for money is moderate; ticket and food prices are relatively high, but the unique immersive experience makes it worthwhile for movie fans.

Beijing's most famous scenic spots are the Forbidden City, Badaling, and the Temple of Heaven. Badaling is located in the suburbs. When visiting Beijing, be sure to research how to get there. This is a must-see attraction and the best-preserved section of the ancient Great Wall. You can drive, take a tourist train from Beijing North Railway Station, or catch a bus from Deshengmen.
The Badaling Great Wall, built during the Ming Dynasty, is truly magnificent. From the 8th floor of the North Tower, it looks like a snake with no tail. It's truly one of the world's greatest wonders. The downside is that it was incredibly crowded. It was like waiting in line to climb Haohanpo (Hero's Slope). They might need to limit the number of tickets sold; the experience was truly disappointing.

The scholar said that Guide Li (Xiao Hai) took me to visit the Forbidden City. The Forbidden City is truly enormous. Having a guide to explain things while we explored made it much easier. Guide Li was a wonderful person, very humorous, and he even translated some profound allusions into plain language for easier understanding. The whole trip was fulfilling but not rushed, and I wasn't tired at all.
Teacher Wang's explanations were excellent. She was enthusiastic, patient, and very kind to us. I'll definitely ask her for help again next time. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

The Yungang Grottoes are home to a beautiful legend closely tied to the monk Tan Yao. Legend has it that in his dream, Tan Yao saw the Buddha standing in the clouds, radiating a dazzling light. This light illuminated the entire world, and all things, illuminated by the Buddha's aura, became peaceful and tranquil. Upon waking, Tan Yao believed this was a revelation from the Buddha, and he decided to preserve this vision in the form of a grotto, allowing future generations to experience the sacredness and beauty of the Buddha's aura. He therefore proposed excavating the grottoes to Emperor Wencheng, who supported his proposal. Thus, the Yungang Grottoes were born. When you stand before the grottoes, the sound of wind that has lingered for millennia in your ears, the tranquility and awe you feel in your heart will become the most precious souvenir of your journey. Going to Yungang is about meeting yourself.
It is a key tourist attraction, 5A grade, and the historical status of the ancient site is extremely high. The grottoes and cliff carvings are earlier than those of Longmen in Luoyang. They are very magnificent and soul-stirring, with unparalleled artistic value. The scenery is also very good. In the valley of the upper reaches of the Hutuo River, the natural scenery such as mountains and rivers is also very good.

The scholar said that Jiang Shangyi's explanation of Prince Gong's Mansion made it clear that the mansion witnessed the Qing Dynasty's rise and fall, hence the saying, "One Prince Gong's Mansion, half the history of the Qing Dynasty." Director Jiang's explanation was captivating. Highly recommended!
The Prince Gong Mansion represents half of Qing Dynasty history. The Prince Gong Mansion is the largest and best-preserved princely mansion of the Qing Dynasty. It is a national 5A-level museum. Built during the Qianlong reign, the mansion was originally the private residence of Heshen. Following the confiscation of Heshen's property, it passed to Yonglin, Prince Qingxi, the younger brother of Emperor Jiaqing. In the first year of the Xianfeng reign, Prince Gong Yixin became the owner of the mansion, hence the name Prince Gong Mansion. The Prince Gong Mansion consists of the mansion and gardens, covering approximately 60,000 square meters. The mansion is divided into three wings: east, middle, and west. Each wing runs south to north along a central axis through multiple courtyards, totaling five vertically, reflecting the ancient quadrangle architecture's Three Elements and Five Elements principles. The main buildings in the middle wing include Yin'an Hall and Jiale Hall; the main buildings in the east wing include Duofuxuan and Ledao Hall; and the west wing includes Baoguang Room and Xijinzhai. The garden, named Cuijin Garden, covers 28,000 square meters and blends Jiangnan garden art with northern architectural styles. It is divided into three sections: East, Middle, and West. Famous attractions include the Western Gate, the Fu Stele, and the Grand Theater. Its cultural value is worthy of attention.

There is an official guide at the door, and you can freely join a group for 180 yuan. I joined a group of 6 people, and it cost 30 yuan per person. However, the guide lady was older and had a heavy accent, which made it difficult to understand. Only after arriving did I realize that Jin Temple has a small connection with Shanghai. The two words "Jin Temple" were written by Marshal Chen Yi, the first mayor of Shanghai in New China, and there is also a huge tree that is said to have been planted by him. Overall, Jin Temple is the most worthwhile place to visit in Taiyuan, with many unique ancient buildings!
The tickets bought on Ctrip are better than those bought on the official account. They don't divide the time periods so finely. As long as you enter the park during the day's admission time, you can enter. It's very convenient! The price is the same.

The Temple of Heaven in Beijing is a highly recommended destination, located approximately two kilometers from Tiananmen Square. If you visit in the morning, you'll see many elderly men exercising in short-sleeved shirts and shorts, even in the autumn and winter months. It's truly remarkable how fit they are. Besides the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests, the Temple of Heaven also boasts attractions like the Echo Wall and the Circular Mound, showcasing the wisdom of the ancients.
The Temple of Heaven was the place where the royal families of the Ming and Qing dynasties offered sacrifices to heaven. Entering from the east gate and heading west through the Seventy-Two Corridors, you will reach the North Kitchen. Originally a courtyard for making sacrifices, it has now been converted into a treasure display hall, mainly displaying precious cultural relics such as royal ritual vessels, musical instruments, sacrifices, bronze figures, etc. The materials include gilt, pure gold, copper, porcelain, and wood. It is well worth a visit.

The ancient city is particularly simple and primitive, without too much commercial atmosphere. The interior space is large and it is worth a day to slowly appreciate it. The consumption inside the ancient city is very good. The overall feeling is great and it is worth coming again!
I was very satisfied with the driver Yin who rented the car. He also explained that he was a local who had lived in the old city since childhood! As for the tickets for the attractions, I can only say that since it is so far away, you have to go there anyway! If you have been to Qiao Family Compound, just ignore what I said! Haha

Xiucai said that Guide Li's explanation was excellent, humorous, and knowledgeable. He taught me a lot. This was not only a tour but also a historical education. Thank you Guide Li, I am very satisfied.
The Summer Palace is worth a visit. Guide Sun's in-depth explanations are both historical and interesting, and it was fun to take the children along. My only regret was that the long-awaited boat tour was cancelled due to strong winds. I'll have to experience it next time!

It's a bit far from Datong, but it's convenient to visit on your own. The wooden pagoda has a historical feel and is great for taking photos. The only downside is that the parking lot is a distance from the entrance, but there are electric shuttle buses available for 10 yuan per person round trip.
📷 [First Sight·Stunning] ● From afar, you can see the red-walled wooden tower towering over the small town. Under the blue sky, it's truly breathtakingly beautiful! ✨ ● Standing beneath the tower, you truly understand its reputation as the "tallest and oldest"! Its imposing presence is breathtaking, and looking up, you can feel the passage of thousands of years. It truly deserves the title of "One of the Three Greatest Towers in the World"! 🏯 🧩 [Details·Amazing] ● Entirely constructed from wood, with mortise and tenon joints and not a single nail! 32 wooden pillars support this thousand-year-old wonder. The wisdom and ingenuity of the ancients are truly remarkable! 👏 ● Although the tower is tilted (even more stable than the Leaning Tower of Pisa), its history is even more evident. Thanks to proper conservation, it still stands tall and unshakeable. It's truly a Chinese treasure! 💯 🖼️ [Visit & Experience] ● Currently, you can only visit the first floor and can't climb the pagoda, which is a bit disappointing 😭. However, the Buddha statues and murals on the first floor are truly stunning! The light and shadows reveal the texture of the Buddha's robes, a detail-obsessed delight! ● We strongly recommend taking a guided tour or doing some research beforehand! Only by understanding the history and structure behind this pagoda can you truly appreciate its wonders. Listening to the guided tours was like being transported back to the Liao and Jin dynasties—it was so immersive! 🎧 ● The scenic area isn't large, but it's worth taking your time to walk and take photos. A sunny day is perfect for taking photos, and you'll find pigeons circling around the pagoda, creating a truly captivating atmosphere. 🕊️ ⛩️ [Surrounding Area & Activities] ● A 5-minute walk from the scenic area, don't miss the Pure Land Temple! The Jin Dynasty main hall and the exquisite Tiangong caisson ceiling are truly hidden treasures! A photo stop wouldn't be complete without a photo! 🙏 🚗 [Transportation Tips] ● High-speed train: Datong South Station → Yingxian Station, 30 minutes. After exiting the station, take a 5-yuan bus directly to the park. Super convenient! 🚄 ● Purchase tickets online (Ctrip, etc.) and enter the park by scanning a QR code or ID card. It's cheaper than visiting the park and can be refunded at any time. Highly recommended! 🎫 💡 [Tips] ● The scenic area provides boiled water during the winter, which is so thoughtful! However, during the Spring Festival, it may be difficult to eat, so we recommend bringing some snacks. ● Arrive early to avoid peak hours and savor this thousand-year-old beauty. ● "One less thing to see"—preserving historical sites is not easy, so enjoy them while you can!
