In Furano City, Hokkaido, there is a stone monument that marks the center of Hokkaido. Because it is located in the center of Hokkaido, it is also called the Navel of Hokkaido. The festival is held every year in late July at the shopping street in front of JR Furano Station. The main activity of the festival is the belly button dance, in which dancers draw belly faces on their bellies and dance in a parade. Many types of illustrations are very unique, especially the fat man's belly face that swings up and down with the dance, with rich expressions and bringing countless laughter to the venue. The two-day belly button dance parade is held every year from 7 to 8 pm.
