Haizishan Nature Reserve is located in the northern plateau area of Daocheng County. It is the largest ancient ice relic on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and is famous for its "Daocheng Ancient Ice Cap". The total area is 3,723 square kilometers, of which Litang County accounts for about 2/3 and Daocheng County accounts for about 1/3. The lowest altitude of the reserve is about 3,400 meters, the highest altitude is 5,050 meters, and the average altitude is 4,000 meters. The reserve is a plateau hill that was raised up by the Himalayas in the ancient Mediterranean. It is part of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. 1/4 of the reserve is ancient The gravel accumulation on the seabed of the Mediterranean Sea, 1/4 is the original forest composed of major tree species such as poplar and cold spruce in the mountains of Sichuan and Yunnan, and 2/4 is the alpine wetland-meadow-shrub. There are a total of 1,145 large and small lakes in the area, and its size and density are unique in China. Because the Tibetan people named the mountain lakes are also called Haizi, it is named Haizi Mountain.
