This scenic spot is at a high altitude, so I was mentally prepared. However, when I got off the scenic bus, I was a little daunted to learn that it was around 4,000 meters above sea level. I opted for the shorter route up, walking slowly, taking breaks, and finally completing the tour. I saw the snow-capped mountains, lakes, dense forests, and temples. It was a worthwhile trip, but I personally think that the cost of the 530 yuan ticket for two people and the cost of the scenic bus was not worth it. If your body allows, you can take the longer or shorter route, but that's another matter.
The short route is very beautiful. I took the battery car for half and walked for the other half. It was not tiring and the scenery was beautiful. I went to Chonggu Temple and then climbed up to see Baoxin Lake. It was more than 800 meters and it was really tiring. There were several rest stops along the way where squirrels and birds were waiting for you to feed them, which made me energetic again.

The ticket price is too high. The scenery is really not as good as that of Shuangqiaogou in Siguniang Mountain. The ticket price is more expensive than others. There are quite a lot of people. People who are prone to motion sickness are not suitable to take this scenic bus. It drives very fast and makes you jump when turning.

I think it can be amazing if the weather is right but it is actually really unpredictable. The weather app says it’s raining, the cloud forecasts say it is mixed, the locals say it is sunny. The entrance is 90 yuan, the bus is 70 yuan and the cable car is 135 yuan per person. Unfortunately, the highest view deck (Gonga Eye) and some oder attractions are closed and there is no proper information on that beforehand.
As one of the most famous glaciers in the Gongga Mountain area, Hailuogou Glacier is indeed worth a visit, especially for travelers who like natural scenery and outdoor adventures. If you are interested in glaciers, snow-capped mountains, and geological wonders, Hailuogou is very worth a visit. Its accessibility and comprehensive landscape (glacier + forest + hot springs) are very rare.
