The Geneva Botanical Garden is located in the suburbs of Geneva. It is a popular leisure place in the area and also provides teaching materials for botanical research. Since 1904, the Geneva Botanical Garden has been open to the public. The vast garden has a variety of plants, trees, flowers, special biological habitats, greenhouses and a small zoo.
The Geneva Botanical Garden classifies the various plants according to their natural habitats and has corresponding information signs: the exhibits include national protected plants, medicinal plants, practical plants, garden plants, flowers and exotic flowers.
The zoo has endangered species, ancient breeds of domestic animals, sika deer, ducks, flamingos living in a special aquatic environment and exotic birds such as parrots and parakeets in large aviaries.
