The Yungang Grottoes are still recommended to visit, they are really stunning. If there is a queue, you must go to queue, the queues are all classic. (Except for the first picture, the queue is for taking pictures 😂) The tour time is not too long, only about 2 hours. I don't know if the battery car is round trip or one-way, you don't need to take the car when you go, or you can choose not to take it. I saved 20 yuan and bought a KFC hamburger.
The Yungang Grottoes is a 5A-level scenic spot, which is no less than the Longmen Grottoes in Luoyang. Moreover, the number of giant Buddhas far exceeds that of the Longmen Grottoes. There are many subjects for viewing and photography, which is worth a visit!

Pingyao Ancient City! You must! Stay! One! Night! 🌞 Pingyao in the morning is absolutely stunning. Wake up at 6 AM. The entire ancient city is yours. You'll be the only pedestrian on the ancient stone streets. Stop and take photos anytime. No Photoshop needed, ladies! 🌙 Pingyao at night is even more captivating. When the big red lanterns light up, the entire ancient city is bustling with activity. The streets are bustling with people, and the aroma of snacks wafts through the air. This is what a living ancient city is like. ✨
The things inside are not very expensive, refrigerator magnets are 5, Mixue Ice City is 1 more than outside, Lucky Cafe DQ, many can use Douyin discounts, Pingyao Sao Dou shop food is delicious and cheap, the hotel recommended is Sanyichang, close to various scenic spots, convenient and clean

The royal gardens have many ancient buildings and rich cultural heritage. The park is very large. It is recommended to avoid visiting during peak hours for a better experience. It will be more interesting to learn about the relevant cultural background first.
See Shanxi through its above-ground cultural relics! Indeed, Shanxi's ancient architecture is truly exquisite! During the summer vacation, I worried about the overcrowding and booked tickets for the Jin Temple in advance. Actually, you can book or buy tickets on-site. Perhaps because the temple is small, visitors often visit and leave quickly, and don't stay long. The water of Nanlao Spring is incredibly clear, and the vitality of the Zhou cypress trees is astonishing. The exquisite architecture showcases the ingenuity of ancient Chinese craftsmen, and their stories tell the story of the long history and splendid civilization of the Chinese nation. Tickets are 80 yuan, with discounts available for some. Those with difficulty walking can take the scenic area's electric carts. Otherwise, the walk from the ticket office through the park area outside the Jin Temple and out of the scenic area via the exit route at the end of the tour is quite long.

It's pretty standard, but the wooden pagoda is quite unique. Because it's wooden, you can't usually see it. You can see it, but you can't climb it. Budget travelers shouldn't enter the scenic area; 50 yuan isn't cheap. The only difference between inside and outside is that you can touch it and go up to the first floor to see the Buddha statues.
The hotel is very conveniently located, about 2/3 kilometers from the ancient city. Dining options are also nearby, and Zini 369 (South Ring Branch) is less than a 10-minute walk away! The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the staff are warm and attentive, always accommodating! Highly recommended!

The Hanging Temple, a national AAAA-level tourist attraction, is located on the cliffs of Cuiping Peak, west of Jinlong Gorge in Hengshan Mountain, Hunyuan County, Shanxi Province. It's often referred to as "The Hanging Temple, half a sky high, suspended in the air by three horsetails." Built 1,400 years ago in the late Northern Wei Dynasty, it's the only remaining temple in China that integrates Buddhism, Taoism, and Confucianism. It's also the world's oldest surviving wooden structure built on a cliff face. Unfortunately, I couldn't get a ticket to the temple, so I just looked around.
It is very challenging to build a building on the cliff. The wisdom of the ancients is amazing. It is very challenging to climb up, especially at the third floor, my legs are shaking.

It's a shocking place. There are fewer people around 8:30 in the morning compared to other times (tour groups can't arrive that early). After 10:00, there are too many people and it's difficult to park the car later.
It's definitely worth a visit! Amazing! If you drive, park at P2 and walk about 15 minutes to the entrance. The freshly squeezed pear juice is amazing, only 10 yuan a cup, a great price!

The Hukou Waterfall on the Yellow River is located in the Yellow River bed of the Qin-Jin Grand Canyon. To the east of the waterfall lies the Linfen area of Shanxi Province, and to the west lies Yichuan County, Yan'an City, Shaanxi Province. The Shaanxi section of Hukou Waterfall is approximately 35 kilometers east of Yichuan County, Yan'an City. Due to the heavy sediment carried by the Yellow River, this waterfall boasts a rare golden color. As the Yellow River roars through the Qin-Jin Gorge, its width abruptly narrows from over 400 meters to 50 meters, pouring into a 30-meter stone trough. Its shape, resembling a teapot pouring water, earns it the name Hukou Waterfall. Here, the Yellow River is gathered by the canyon, converging into a single stream, roaring down and plunging into a deep pool, creating a magnificent spectacle. Observing from the riverside, one cannot help but be struck by the awe. This spot is hailed as the "national spirit," the "Soul of the Yellow River," and a symbol of the Chinese nation's courageous spirit.
During peak tourist season, crowds are incredibly high. I recommend buying tickets online a day in advance for a 5 yuan discount. There are many restaurants near the scenic area, and parking is free. The Yellow River carp is delicious, but the price is quite high.

Huayan Temple sits west and faces east, following the Khitan people's original belief in sun worship, belief in ghosts, and the primacy of the east. This breaks with the traditional north-south orientation of Han Buddhist temples. The temple is divided into the Upper and Lower Huayan Temples, with the Upper Huayan Temple centered around the Main Hall and the Lower Huayan Temple centered around the Bhagavan Hall. Each temple has an axially symmetrical layout. During the summer months, the pagoda was particularly crowded, and the line was long, so we didn't enter. However, the main hall is well worth a visit.
Huayan Temple, located in the southwest corner of Datong Ancient City, covers an area of 66,000 square meters. Oriented west to east, the temple boasts a rigorous layout encompassing over 30 individual buildings, including the Mountain Gate, the Hall of Universal Light, the Main Hall, the Hall of the Buddha, and the Huayan Pagoda, arranged along two main north-south axes. Visitors can also see the two generals Heng and Ha, as well as relics.

Zhang Yimou's film "Raise the Red Lantern" has immortalized the red lanterns of the Qiao Family Compound in our hearts. The once-popular TV series "Qiao Family Compound" further showcases the cultural heritage of this compound and the legacy of the Qiao family, a prominent Shanxi merchant family. The Qiao Family Compound boasts a rigorous layout, ingenious design, and meticulously crafted bricks and tiles, meticulously crafted with detailed brackets and eaves, and richly decorated with gold. The entire compound is awash with brick, wood, and stone carvings. Various motifs symbolizing auspiciousness, enlightenment, and hope adorn the door lintels, beams, guardrails, eaves, window frames, and screen walls. The courtyard is imbued with a humanistic charm and a vibrant spirit.
It was my first time to see the Shanxi Courtyard, and I was quite shocked. I heard from the tour guide some interesting stories about why the Qiao Family Courtyard is so famous and why the ticket is the most expensive in the courtyard.
