Weizhou Island, located in Beihai, Guangxi, boasts the Nanwan Crocodile Mountain, a national 5A-level scenic area. Facing Beihai Silver Beach, Weizhou Island covers approximately 25 square kilometers and has a 36-kilometer coastline. It is the largest island in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and China's largest and youngest volcanic island.
In recent years, tourism to Weizhou Island has become increasingly popular. However, opinions on the island are mixed. Many believe that not visiting Weizhou Island will be a regret, and even visiting will lead to regret. In my opinion, Weizhou Island is worth visiting. However, it's essential to do your research beforehand. I've summarized five things to keep in mind before your trip.
Although Weizhou Island isn't large, with a coastline of only 36 kilometers, it boasts a considerable number of scenic spots, mainly concentrated on the east, west, and south coasts. The west coast features attractions like Dripstone Screen, Crocodile Mountain Park, and Shiluokou Beach, excellent spots for watching the sunset over the sea. The east coast includes Wucai Beach, the East Coast Scenic Area, and the Catholic Church, offering the best vantage point for watching the sunrise. Nanwan Town is the island's most important commercial center, home to seafood markets, supermarkets, restaurants, and a vibrant nightlife with bars. The north coast features Shell Beach and the Wetland Park, less crowded with tourists.
If you're interested in water sports, I personally recommend sailing; for around 100 RMB, you can take a spin, and the sunset views are particularly stunning.
The price/performance ratio is not high. I spent a lot of money on the tickets and boat tickets, as well as the accommodation and seafood. The fresh seafood is much more expensive than that in Beihai. It's just that you can ride an electric bike around on the island, which is quite interesting. The island is not big and you can go around in a circle in 40 minutes. I like it very much with my children. I went to the sea but it was lonely. I found a very good accommodation. The seafood processing is also done by the owner of the B&B. I didn't make any mistakes. It's okay.

It's definitely worth visiting. The walk isn't too tiring; you'll quickly see the waterfall by following the path. You can get quite close by taking a bamboo raft, and Vietnamese boats occasionally stop to sell local specialties. The waterfall itself is spectacular, and the nearby Ban Gioc Waterfall in Vietnam looks much smaller. After descending, walk up to the upper viewpoints; there's a section with many steps. Each viewpoint at the top is worth seeing. The Vietnamese-style street is where you can buy souvenirs and eat. You'll pass many souvenir shops along the way. A total of about two hours is enough to explore without getting too tired. There are shuttle buses available from the Vietnamese-style street for a separate fee.
Highly recommended! The scenery is beautiful, especially under a blue sky with white clouds. It looks like it's been professionally edited. The waterfalls are powerful and breathtaking; the combination of the waterfalls on both the Chinese and Vietnamese sides is spectacular. Highly recommended!

You absolutely must go during the day; you won't see much at night, and there's no shuttle bus. Even if you drive in, it's pitch black. Remember to bring your ID card if you have a three-day pass; they won't let you in without it.
Qingxiu Mountain in Nanning is a must-visit attraction in Nanning. The scenic area boasts fresh air and beautiful scenery, with sightseeing buses and a mini-train for easy access to various themed areas. The Leaf Garden is particularly beautiful and offers excellent photo opportunities.

Memories of the Li River Scenery
This time, I chose the Ctrip-themed cruise ship "Y0Y0 Happy Cruise," departing from Zhujiang Wharf in Guilin and sailing to Longtoushan Wharf in Yangshuo, a journey of about 4 hours. Following the guide, I enjoyed the scenery along the way; the landscape before my eyes was like a series of vivid landscape paintings. I finally experienced firsthand the charm of "Guilin's scenery is the best under heaven," and understood many famous scenic spots.
1. What's hidden in Yangdi's scenery?
Yangdi is the first scenic area after the Li River flows into Yangshuo. Here, both banks are lined with uniquely shaped peaks, and the bamboo along the river is lush and verdant. Sailing downstream, lifelike mountain landscapes such as Embroidered Mountain Walls, Carp Hanging on the Walls, and Children Worshipping Guanyin come into view, as if stepping into a flowing landscape painting. Occasionally, wisps of smoke rise from the mountain villages, cormorants busily fish in the water, splashing water everywhere, and cattle and sheep bleat and moo on the mountains, creating a vibrant and wild atmosphere.
2. Can you really see nine horses at Nine Horses Painting Mountain?
That magnificent cliff, hundreds of meters high, is the famous Nine Horses Painting Mountain. The "nine horses" on the cliff are not real horses, but rather natural patterns and colors formed by the rocks. How many horses you can see depends entirely on the time of day, angle, weather, and whether you have a detailed guide. Most people can usually only see 3 to 5. A folk song goes: "Horse watcher, horse watcher, how many pairs of horses are there? Seeing seven makes you a runner-up, seeing nine makes you a champion."
3. Is comparing a 20 RMB note to the mountain peak enough?
The image on the back of the 20 RMB note is a photograph of the Yellow Cloth Reflection in the Li River. Simply comparing the shapes of the mountain peaks isn't enough; the key is to look at the two core elements: the "yellow cloth" and the "reflection." There are two interpretations of the "yellow cloth": one is that the yellow sand deposited at the bottom of the river resembles a large yellow cloth; the other is that there's a flat, large yellow stone slab at the bottom of the river, like a yellow cloth spread out. The "reflection" is most beautiful when the river is wide and the water is clear and calm. Peaks like Yuanbao Peak and Chaoban Mountain, along with the verdant bamboo along the banks, will be clearly reflected in the water, creating a harmonious blend of mountains and water that makes it difficult to distinguish reality from illusion.
4. Just how amazing is the Li River scenery?
The Li River is a typical karst landscape, and its scenic characteristics can be summarized in four words: clear, unique, ingenious, and ever-changing. "Clear" refers to the Li River's year-round crystal-clear waters, allowing one to see directly to the bottom; "Unique" describes the strangely shaped yet beautiful peaks; "Exquisite" signifies the delicate and dynamic scenery, with rocks displaying remarkable shapes, textures, and colors, creating exquisitely crafted scenes as if sculpted by hand; "Changing" means the scenery varies with the seasons, day and night, and weather, offering a fresh experience with each visit.

Yangsu's Yulong River rafting is highly recommended. The bamboo raft drifts downstream, the river gently flowing, and the lush green mountains and waters on both sides create a picturesque scene. The park is quite large. If you have enough time, it is recommended that you come early in the afternoon to play the park's entertainment projects first. There are two in the Devil City😂, with food and entertainment. It is recommended to watch the performance around 16:30 and then enjoy the night view of the park. The landscape backdrop is beautiful, with many dynamic bamboo rafting performances and some small interactive performances upon entering. However, I couldn't understand the long, distant scene of a fishing village, which I haven't seen in several other scenic spots. The choreography, which featured a group of performers in flesh-colored tights, seemingly women preparing to marry bathing and undressing, was quite close and utterly incomprehensible. I felt shocked and uncomfortable. The peeping was done in broad daylight, with everyone watching and the lights glaring... I didn't pay attention to the wedding dress scene, but it seemed like there was a man dressed in a bathing costume... It was very strange. I was forced to accept the strange feeling that there must be perverts in this world, perverts who can falsely accuse, slander, frame, and kidnap. Some people felt like they were just wearing bizarre clothes on a fashion show, and they even sold cotton pads at the door, which were barely there for inner wear.
Incredible show. Really enjoyed it. Open air so take a raincoat in case of rain, though they do provide you with one.
