A must-see when visiting Datong is the Yungang Grottoes. As one of the four major grottoes, they are truly a historical treasure. The area is vast, and the circulation is well-designed. I happened to meet a group of friends who joined the guided tour, which gave me a more integrated understanding of history. The only problem was the crowds, which is unavoidable. I can only recommend going early—the earlier the better, as it will be less crowded.
Each cave is stunning and well-preserved. The instructor, Mr. Xiaobai, was very dedicated. Not only was his explanation professional but he was also very patient. He kept answering our Xiaobai's various questions and gave us a detailed and comprehensive explanation.

We arrived at 5:40 PM, just as the first floor closed at 6:00 PM. There were spaces available in the west parking lot. The scenic area is open until 10:00 PM, and the area is quite lively with snacks. A word of advice to those of you who are blasting loud square dance music at the entrance: it's unpleasant, and the resonance of the sound waves will also shorten the lifespan of the wooden pagoda. This is a treasure for the entire county, so don't show off your limited skills.
Explore the mysteries of a millennium-old monument and experience a life of cultural heritage. The Yingxian Wooden Pagoda, a Buddhist monument steeped in history, bears a thousand years of history and culture. A masterpiece of ancient craftsmanship, it stands as a symbol of faith. Entering it, one can hear the echoes of history and feel the pulse of culture. Here, we can not only appreciate the ingenuity of the ancients, but also feel the perseverance and legacy of faith. Every stone and piece of wood seems to tell a story of the past, allowing us to appreciate the true meaning of life through appreciation.

The Hanging Temple, a true architectural marvel, was first built during the Northern Wei Dynasty and has stood for over 1,500 years on the cliffs of Cuiping Peak in Hengshan Mountain. Built on a foundation of half-inserted beams, it cleverly utilizes rock supports and utilizes mechanical principles. The ingenious design of brackets and mortise and tenon joints reveals the wisdom of the ancients. The temple boasts buildings of varying heights, connected by plank roads, creating an ingenious layout. This temple, a blend of Confucianism, Buddhism, and Taoism, embodies a unique religious and cultural atmosphere. Standing on the plank roads within the temple, one can gaze upon the abyss beneath, the ancient temple beside them, and the soaring eaves overhead, creating breathtaking scenery.
The scenic area is quite small, and if you don't climb up, you can see it all in half an hour. Don't use the navigation system to navigate to the Hanging Temple, as it will direct you to the parking lot and then take a shuttle bus up. Instead, drive directly to the foot of the mountain, where there's parking available. The walk up only takes about ten minutes, and the scenery along the way is quite nice.

We tried the Bigfoot ride and the camel ride. The Bigfoot ride was incredibly thrilling, like a desert roller coaster. The kids had a blast rolling around in the sand. We wouldn't have wanted to leave if it hadn't been dark. They sell rice inside, 20 or 30 yuan per portion, and it was pretty good.

The Huanghuagou Grassland Resort in Ulanqab, Chahar Right Middle Banner, Ulanqab City, Inner Mongolia, lies within the northern Yinshan Mountains and the eastern Daqing Mountains. With an average altitude of 2,100 meters and a circumference of 600 square kilometers, it is one of the world's three largest alpine flower meadows and the closest Inner Mongolian grassland to Beijing. With a vegetation coverage rate exceeding 90% and an average summer temperature of 18°C, the scenic area is known as a "Heavenly Grassland, a Cool Paradise." As a National AAAA-level tourist attraction, it boasts six core attractions, including the Huanghuagou Flower Grassland and the Volcanic Rock Canyon. Combining grassland scenery, geological wonders, and Mongolian Yuan culture, it is ideal for families, outdoor enthusiasts, and those seeking immersive cultural experiences.
The grasslands are beautiful and expansive. The streams flowing through the valleys of Huanghuagou are particularly charming. Unfortunately, heavy rain the day before yesterday forced the cancellation of a scenic spot along the valley's stream. The scenic area's cable car is quite good, saving a lot of energy and offering beautiful views.

It's quite good. Tickets are available on various platforms, but I don't know why other platforms require individual ticket verification. Anyway, it didn't prevent me from getting in. It was 35 yuan. Forget the fridge magnets; they're ugly. It's very solemn and respectful inside. Everyone is very pious. Even if you don't understand something, someone will explain it, like taking off your hat and praying clockwise.
The Jokhang Temple is very big and crowded. When you go out, you will see Saishang Old Street. There are many things to eat and play. The commercial atmosphere is also quite strong, but the prices of the items are relatively reasonable. The freshly baked yogurt cake is delicious.

The Upper and Lower Huayan Temples are magnificent. Excellent, a classic choice for a Datong city tour. The underground relic palace below is also beautiful, requiring shoe covers to enter. It's truly magnificent and magnificent.
Huayan Temple, a must-see in Datong, truly lives up to its reputation! It deserves a perfect rating! This temple, steeped in millennia of history, was first built during the Liao Dynasty and has endured through the passage of dynasties, retaining its grandeur. Standing inside, looking up, the ancient halls, exquisite wood carvings, and mottled stone tablets exude a sense of time-honored richness. The Buddha statues in the Main Hall are especially majestic and awe-inspiring, inviting you to slow down and take in the experience. While there were certainly quite a few tourists that day, it didn't detract from the experience at all. I brought my daughter here specifically to take photos of her in a Tang Dynasty-style dress, set against a backdrop of red walls and gray tiles, paired with her kilt and bun, the photos turned out amazing! As she ran around the courtyard in her traditional attire, sunlight filtering through the eaves, it felt like she'd been transported back a thousand years. Even passersby praised the photos. The overall experience was a blend of historical solemnity and the vibrant energy of everyday life. Whether you're looking to learn about Liao and Jin culture or simply take photos, this place is worth a visit. When I left, I was still holding the photos I had just taken, feeling very satisfied. I would like to visit Datong again next time I come.

Very good 👍 Now most areas have a high temperature, and Wutai Mountain is only about 26 degrees, and the temperature is cool and comfortable one morning and one night. It is not only a tourist holy place, but also a good place to purify the soul and settle yourself. It is a very good place to travel. Interested people, please start the trip! 👍👍👍
1. The service was excellent. Someone from the scenic area contacted me the day before to explain how to get my ticket and whether I needed a shuttle. 2. I arrived after 8:30 AM and the bus left as soon as it was full. 3. We went to the peak in the opposite direction, avoiding the usual peak times. There were no lines at any point, making the experience truly wonderful. 4. The gravel road was difficult to navigate, but thankfully there was a scenic area bus to the peak. 5. The intervals between peaks ranged from 20-50 minutes, with 40-60 minutes allowed for each peak. The driver would briefly brief everyone and wait until everyone was present before leaving. 6. Fasten your seatbelt; I felt a jolt of movement throughout the entire trip, almost being airborne several times. 7. The hike lasted from 8:30 AM to 6:00 PM, with the bus parked at the temple entrance. But my legs still felt like they weighed me down. 8. The scenery was pleasant, and the temperature at the top of the mountain had dropped. We visited in late July, especially at the North Peak, where the temperature was about 10°C lower than at the base, so a fleece-lined jacket was recommended. A light jacket would suffice for the other peaks.

It is worth a visit for those who are interested in history. The scenic area is not too large and it is not too tiring. The parking lot environment is a bit too poor and there are too few charging piles, which seriously affects the experience.
I didn't have high expectations, but it was worth it. It's not as famous as the Badaling Great Wall, but it's not much different. The scenic area is not very large, and it's basically just climbing the Great Wall. I can feel the border life back then.

Shanxi is indeed a province with many cultural relics. The information is very rich. There are many exhibits and the explanations by the tour guides are very professional. We contacted this Ctrip platform very early and the tour guides are also very professional. Highly recommended
Very good. In fact, the guide took us all the way from 2:30 to 4:30. The guide was very dedicated and the content of the explanation was very detailed and comprehensive. The planning of the entire route also covered all the treasures and highlights of the museum. In fact, 5-6 hours is not too much to visit the whole museum. I arrived at the museum entrance 10 minutes before the group started. The group I signed up for on Ctrip was really worth the trip. Hahahahahahaha
