Many people choose to visit at night, but I personally think visiting the Yellow Crane Tower on a clear day is much more interesting; the area near the West Gate is great for taking photos. Zhang Fei Square is less popular but still has many photogenic spots. The Poetry Stele Corridor is also well worth seeing.
I got lucky with the date, because there were extra performances available because it was 10/29, something about the 9th month of 9th day or something. If it didn't have the extra performances it might be a 3.

A worthwhile trip! I finally saw the Sword of Goujian, King of Yue, which I'd been longing to see! A huge thank you to our guide today, Ms. Yu Chengfang! She's incredibly knowledgeable! Her explanations were lively and engaging. She was also very considerate of us throughout the trip! I'd love to bring my kids here again sometime.
Only by listening intently to Teacher Han's explanations can one truly experience the joy of "an expert's understanding of the intricacies of the craft." Slowing down, one discovers countless previously overlooked details, a profound difference from a cursory glance. Those previously overlooked details emerge, revealing the intricate craftsmanship and exquisite ingenuity behind seemingly ordinary artifacts. The ancients' exceptional wisdom and meticulous craftsmanship are truly awe-inspiring, and a strong sense of cultural pride wells up within me. Teacher Han's erudition humbles me and ignites my thirst for learning.

Enshi is a settlement of the Tujia ethnic group. The Enshi Grand Canyon will host traditional Tujia activities such as the "Daughters' Festival" and "Canyon Heroes," allowing visitors to experience the Tujia folk customs and traditions up close and feel the rich ethnic culture.
Autumn temperatures are moderate, averaging around 20℃. It avoids the heat of summer and the cold of winter, with exceptionally fresh air and high levels of negative oxygen ions, making it a pleasant and relaxing season, perfect for outdoor activities and extended visits.

Yes, I checked the weather forecast, and it said it would clear up, and indeed, it was sunny when I went. However, the fog on the mountain never dissipated. We were following the classic route, starting in the morning and going to Taizipo, Xiaoyao Valley, Zixiao Palace, Nanyan, Nanyan Palace, Mingshendao, the First, Second, and Third Gates, and the Golden Summit. When we reached Nanyan Palace, we realized we had to backtrack and climb again to the Golden Summit. Time was tight, and the fog was getting thicker, making it impossible to see the path ahead. The climb up a very steep staircase was exhausting; by the time we finally reached the Golden Summit, we were soaked in sweat, and our hair was frosted. We finally arrived at the Golden Summit at 4 pm, but unfortunately, it was so foggy that we couldn't see the summit's scenery, the magnificent sunset, or the sea of clouds. We took the cable car down, and all we knew was that the cable car line was very steep, but it was all shrouded in fog. I didn't get to experience all the beautiful scenery, but after climbing and paying my respects, I had a great experience. There's a really ancient cliffside building near Nanyan Palace that's definitely worth seeing, though you have to backtrack, and the weather wasn't great either. Finally, be sure to drink the ginger soup at the Golden Summit to warm yourself up!
The fairy mountain... the golden summit and sea of clouds are magnificent. The path down the mountain is also okay, but I prefer the quiet and clean Xiaoyao Valley! The ticket allows you to play for three days and includes shuttle bus, but most people only stay for one or two days. However, there are a few drivers who are quite aggressive!

Of course, a visit to the Three Gorges Dam is a must for a national monument. My self-driving trip took just over three hours, and I wasn't pressed for time. The route was pretty good, but you had to get off at each stop and go to the transfer center to get to the next one. You couldn't skip any you didn't want to see, which was a bit inconvenient. The best parking spot is P1, which is closest to the visitor center.
The Three Gorges Dam is majestic and a source of national pride. The scenic area offers pleasant scenery, easy access to escalators, and a clear flow of visitors. The area is well-managed. The ticket price is excellent value.

The Two Dams and One Gorge boat tour is definitely worth a try, but the guide was less than satisfactory. First, the timing. My parents and I arrived at the visitor center early, but the guide was nowhere to be found. We texted but didn't get a response, and we called to wait at the agreed time. The tour guide was told to arrive 10 minutes early, but my parents and I arrived over 20 minutes early to avoid being late, and the guide didn't show up! After boarding the boat, there were no free seats available, so we paid for an upgrade, which was fine. However, during the group bus tour, the guide was also talking, but I couldn't hear anything. The guide's voice was hoarse and difficult to hear throughout the tour, and I felt like my throat was sore. It's understandable that service isn't easy, but we paid about 300 yuan per person for a full-price ticket to the Three Gorges, and the tour company assigned us a guide with discounted service. This really tarnished the reputation of the Three Gorges River and One Gorge tour. I hope Ctrip will improve its selection of travel agencies in future partnerships! Don't tarnish their reputation!
A two-day Yichang adventure for the lazy! Enjoy the scenery and city walk. If you're not up early and, like me, want to see Yichang's scenery and enjoy the city walk, this itinerary is perfect! Day 1: Arrive in Yichang in the afternoon or evening. It's recommended to stay near the CBD. Head to the Tieluba Night Market or Dayang Department Store for dinner or a late-night snack. Enjoy Yichang specialties like red oil buns, barbecued fish, kang potatoes (try the local way with houttuynia cordata), radish dumplings, cold shrimp, and more. Then, enjoy a delicious sleep. Day 2: Sleep in naturally, have lunch, and then embark on a city walk. The route: Children's Park - Yunji Road Overpass - Jiefang Road Pedestrian Street - Ermalu - Yanjiang Avenue Riverside Park - Yangtze River Night Cruise. Along the way, you'll find various cafes, gourmet food stalls, and cultural and creative shops. The scenery is also stunning and worth exploring. Continue along Yanjiang Avenue toward the Three Gorges Visitor Center for dinner near Wanda Plaza. After dinner, board the boat at the Three Gorges Visitor Center before 7:30 PM. Enjoy a relaxing night cruise of Yichang's nightscape, taking in landmarks like the Natural Tower, Yiling Yangtze River Bridge, Moji Mountain, and Zhenjiang Pavilion. The highlight is the nighttime "rising waters" experience of passing through the Gezhouba Ship Locks—a must-try experience in Yichang! At the end of the tour, disembark at Huangbaihe Wharf. A return bus will be provided, allowing you to have the driver stop at Yiling Square (near the CBD) and return to your hotel. PS: Remember to purchase your Yangtze River Night Cruise ticket one day in advance! You'll need to scan your ID card to board the boat, and the river breeze can be quite strong at night, so those who are sensitive to the cold should bring a light jacket. #YichangTwoDamOneGorge #YangtzeNightCruise #YichangTravel #TravelStrategy #citywalk #TravelTips

There were too many people during the National Day holiday, and the sightseeing bus had to wait for a long time, which made the time a bit rushed. The scenery of Luoyan Island is very beautiful, the tickets are not expensive, and the children's playground is also suitable for children. It is no problem to stay there for a whole day on a leisurely weekend.
Donghu Lake is divided into many scenic areas, where you can ride a bicycle or take a sightseeing bus. The scenery is very pleasant, but the number of sightseeing buses is in short supply during holidays, so you have to wait for a long time. Moreover, pedestrians, cyclists and vehicles are all on the same road, so safety needs to be improved!

Autumn in Tianyan is definitely worth a visit; the colorful forests and mist are stunning. For Shennong Valley, it's recommended to enter from the Fengjingya entrance, as there are more viewing platforms there. If you're short on time or energy, you can walk to viewing platform number 4 and then turn back. Shennongding is mostly for taking photos and checking in, so it's extremely crowded. The scenery of Tianqiao is concentrated in the first half, but fortunately, the scenic area isn't large, so a quick walk around is fine. Guanmenshan is great for seeing pandas and giant salamanders. Shennongtan offers performances. Unfortunately, we couldn't visit Dajiuhu due to road closures. The combined ticket is valid for 5 days. To see all the attractions in Shennongding Scenic Area (not just checking off the sights), you'll need 2 days. Guanmenshan, Tianqiao, and Shennongtan can all be visited in one day. Tianyan is quite far; you can leisurely explore the scenic area in 4 hours. In short, the scenery is beautiful, and there are many mountain roads, making it suitable for those who aren't novice drivers, whether driving themselves or hiring a car. Note that some attractions in Shennongding Scenic Area have separate entrances and exits, requiring someone to walk to retrieve the car. 😹
Our timing wasn't ideal. It had rained for a while beforehand, and the roads to Dajiuhu were damaged, making it inaccessible. The autumn colors we were really looking forward to weren't at their peak; some leaves had already fallen, and others hadn't turned red yet! A bit of a disappointment.

I went during the National Day holiday, and the scenery was beautiful. Getting up early gave me a unique perspective; the misty atmosphere made it feel like a fairyland. The air was fresh, and I was in a good mood! It's just a shame I didn't have enough energy to visit Bawang Village.
The Three Gorges Family is a great place worth visiting. There are Tujia performances and you can experience the Batu folk culture. Longjin Creek is even more beautiful. It is full of green, green mountains and bamboos, and the gurgling river water is also green and clear. I really like this place! It is as beautiful as a picture scroll.

Pingshan Canyon is a must-visit attraction in Enshi. The streams are crystal clear, and the canyon is serene and beautiful—a true paradise. There are two ways to enter the canyon: walking in and boat out, catering to different preferences.
I really think it's worth going, it's not that bad. I still recommend taking the boat in and out, as walking is a bit tiring, and the scenery along the way is just so-so. It's better to look at it from below, it's quite beautiful. The security guard at the scenic area was also very good-tempered, not impatient or anything. The owner of a noodle shop at the entrance of the scenic area was also very nice. Seeing that the two of us ordered one bowl of noodles and one bowl of fried potatoes, he gave us more noodles, worried that we wouldn't be full. 🤣 We explained that we would go to town to eat later, but he still gave us a lot of noodles. She is a really nice female boss, and the price of noodles is not much higher than outside, and the size is super generous.
