Visiting Elephant Mountain during a downpour is a unique experience. It's not without its crowds, but it's definitely better than on a sunny day. Free reservations are available. Enter through Gate 3, scan the QR code, and follow the trails to Love Island, then Elephant Mountain. We took a bamboo raft for 50 yuan per person, circling the mountain twice, and took photos with the ospreys (10 yuan for both). Finally, we exited through Gate 1 and strolled back to the hotel. Prices in tourist cities are quite impressive, I love it!
We first arrived in Guilin from Yangshuo. Xingping Town in Yangshuo (the 20 RMB place) was filthy and messy. The Elephant Trunk Hill scenic area was small, and prices were incredibly high. A bottle of mineral water cost 6 RMB...
There's a bus stop right outside Gate 2, which was quite convenient.

We chose the bus + Samsung Cruise. The bus guide contacted the pick-up location in advance and picked us up on time early in the morning. It took more than half an hour to get to the pier. Some of the Samsung ships have different types. I bought the upper floor. There is a small balcony in front of the second floor where I can enjoy the breeze, take pictures, and enjoy the scenery. I took my parents and children on a three-day, two-night trip to Guilin, visiting Elephant Trunk Hill, the Sun and Moon Twin Pagodas, Yangshuo's Ten-Mile Art Gallery, and Xingping Ancient Town. I personally think the boat trip from Guilin to Yangshuo is the highlight of both Guilin and Yangshuo. For four hours, I thoroughly enjoyed the scenery along the river, while the rest of the itinerary was relatively insignificant. If you have the time, I highly recommend taking this boat trip.
"Guilin landscape is the world, Yangshuo landscape is Guilin", and the Lijiang is the essence of Yangshuo scenery. It is worth going. The Danxia landform is beautiful. It was cloudy today, so the sun wasn't too strong. We stayed at a hotel near the south gate, which made it easy to get in and out. We, who don't usually like exercise, walked to Stonehenge and back, which took about an hour. The group that climbed the whole circle played for 4 hours, which was amazing.
Just to highlight the key points:
1. It's not as sunny as people say online. About one-fifth to one-quarter of the way is shaded by trees or pavilions, likely due to improvements to the scenic area.
2. The Grand Loop Route isn't very long. I took photos along the way and even filmed a few airplanes. Two and a half hours was more than enough. The entire scenic area isn't very large, and the tour doesn't even rank among the other famous mountains.
3. Don't believe those who say you can enter through the west gate. Even if you can, you'll miss out on a lot of scenery. It's better to just take the Grand Loop Route.
4. The scenery is truly stunning, and this type of landscape isn't common in China.
5. There are plenty of small shops and village stalls along the way, and the prices are standard for scenic areas.
6. There aren't many restrooms, but the scenic area itself isn't very large, so just plan ahead.
7. Parking is quite plentiful and well-managed.

Because of the water level of the Li River, the performance was changed. But it was my first time watching it, so I didn't know what was different. It started at 8 o'clock and ended around 9:10.
