During the peak tourist season, I stayed in a hotel near the scenic area in advance and entered the park early the next morning. The entire Stone Forest is divided into the Big Stone Forest and the Small Stone Forest. Personally, I think there is nothing to see in the Small Stone Forest except Ashima. The scenery behind the Big Stone Forest is good and it is still possible to walk slowly.

This is Xishuangbanna's only 5A scenic spot. I highly recommend it to those who enjoy plants. It's best to visit with a guide; it's hard to appreciate on your own. The west section has more flowers, while the east section is a forest park, so you can choose whether to visit it or not. I really enjoyed it here.
This scenic area is well worth visiting, divided into two areas, the east and west, with the core attractions in the west. The Royal Lily Pond, Palm Garden, and Exotic Flower Garden are all beautiful. Many rare plants and flowers can be seen in the garden.

A beautiful park with nice scenery. Many people took photos there, but it was not very interesting. It was a pity that we didn't see the elephant show because we were in a hurry. However, the map in the park did not show where to watch the show, so it was easy to get lost.
Manting Park, Xishuangbanna's oldest park, once served as the imperial garden of the Dai king. It integrates Dai royal family, Buddhism, and folk culture. With stunning tropical scenery and captivating bonfire evenings featuring singing and dancing, it's the perfect place to experience the charm of Xishuangbanna.

It would have been quite convenient to walk from Gantong to Xima Cao and then pay the 50 yuan per person difference to take the cable car down the mountain, but now you have to climb 1,200 steps to get to Xima Cao, which is a bummer. They are currently building another staircase or elevator nearby, so it may be improved in the future.
The cable car is the first choice for parent-child travel. The pool water is much clearer. The queue for the battery car in Longmen Scenic Area is too long, so I gave up decisively. It is still necessary to walk around Nie Er's Tomb after getting off the cable car.

The Wild Elephant Valley is a small scenic area, but it features elephant shows, feeding opportunities, and close encounters with the elephants. The high-altitude elephant viewing path offers a stroll through the mountains and rivers. Visitors can also experience the rainforest elephant herding experience, where mahouts interact with elephants in the rainforest, feeding them, taking walks, and other activities.
It's great. Although the only part worth watching is the imagination show, it is still worth going. After all, you can't see elephants in other places, and they are wild elephants.

Taking my two kids to the Miledong Fengyun area was beyond our expectations! The red brick buildings in the area were a real delight for the kids. The Kaleidoscope Art Museum resembled a castle made of colorful building blocks, and the kids ran around it, exclaiming, "It looks like a magic house!" The photos were filled with their delighted smiles. The vast lawn became a natural playground, where they chased butterflies and lay on the grass to watch the clouds. The kids had a blast running around all afternoon without even complaining of fatigue. Along the way, there were many little surprises: adorable sculptures hidden in the grass, and a roadside stall selling colorful cotton candy. The kids ate and browsed, their eyes overflowing. In the evening, we rested on a bench by the sea of flowers, watching the sunset gild the red brick buildings. My eldest child sketched with a paintbrush, while my second child chased squirrels. The scene was truly soothing. The most thoughtful amenities were the family-friendly facilities: rest areas were everywhere for children to refill their water bottles and change clothes, and the restrooms had dedicated child-friendly sinks, so even with a stroller, we could complete the entire route without encountering any steps. The scenic area's trains are slow and leisurely, leaving children waving with excitement while adults can take a break. Our B&B is located near the scenic area, just a 10-minute walk away. At night, we can take our children out to admire the stars, listen to the chirping of insects, and reminisce about the day's fun. In short, there's no crowds here, but there's space for children to unleash their inner selves. The perfect blend of art and nature is a surefire way to bring your kids!
To be honest, the Kaleidoscope Art Museum is pretty good, but there are no flowers in the flower fields. There are too many tourists and the staff feel that they can't handle it. There are too many people. Taking a photo is like squeezing. The quality of tourists seems to be not high. They don't care, especially some uncles and aunts. Alas, I can't stand it.

It was a worthwhile and wonderful trip. Thanks to Ctrip for arranging it. The free day on the last day was like an extra day of leisure time because our flight was late. The hotel had average reviews online, but I thought the transportation was very convenient. We visited most of the planned attractions. It was a very happy time with the Luo family.
There are lots of performances every day, and it's always fun when I bring friends from other provinces. You just have to immerse yourself in it, hahaha. Nowadays, many buildings have restaurants (specializing in their respective ethnic groups), which is quite fun. You can enjoy roasted milk fan in the Bai village, and there are Dai-style restaurants in the Dai village. Restaurant prices are generally comparable to those outside the scenic area, so they're very affordable.

The scenery of the primeval forest is nice, there are primeval forests everywhere, and there are many physical examination projects. I watched the peacocks flying, experienced the Dai delivery, water splashing carnival, bamboo pole dance, etc. It felt good!
Stunning natural scenery: As soon as you step into the scenic area, you feel like you've stepped into a vast natural oxygen bar! Take a deep breath, and your lungs are cleansed by the fresh air. Entering the valley rainforest, towering ancient trees block out the sun. You can witness "living fossils" that have thrived for over a million years. Dozens of meters tall parashorea chinensis reach the sky. Sunlight filters through the leaves, casting a breathtaking "forest light." The dappled light and shadows create stunning photos.

The park is large, but not many fun places to visit. Avoid the Lotus Pond train; it's too expensive and not worth it. Several attractions offer water splashing activities, but this one is the most crowded. Find a seat in advance, or else you'll have to pay 88 yuan per person to go up to the second floor. The shower and storage fees aren't worth it. The crowded and narrow aisles leading to and from the water splashing square are unbearable.
The Dai Garden is really worth the money. You must participate in the water splashing feast at the water splashing square. The speedboat at the border pier will definitely exceed your expectations. The undercover captain is a happy brother who is very good at creating an atmosphere. The 35-minute journey is simply exciting. It is especially recommended to bring boys to experience it.

Escape the hustle and bustle of the city and discover nature on a hike in the Jinuo Mountain rainforest. The total distance is 5 kilometers, 2 kilometers by land and 3 kilometers by water. Along the way, you'll gain a deeper understanding of the rainforest's flora, fauna, environment, and ways of life. Dressed in a "savage costume," we experienced rainforest river tracing, high-altitude swings, tree abseiling, archery, and a rainforest feast, including sour ants and wild Sanya fruit (Banna's version of mangosteen). For families with young children (under 10 years old), we recommend booking a private tour with an experienced indigenous guide, who can provide one-on-one support for the children. Summary: Recommended family itineraries
The Rainforest Walking on Mount Keno is a journey of depth and pristineness. Along the winding path into the forest, you can feel the breath of trees with a strong earthy and plant aroma. The canopy is dense, the light is mottled, and the pace is slow on the soft, wet leaves. Along the way, you will pass by suspension bridges, streams and waterfalls, each like a natural punch point. Occasionally, you can hear the chorus of birds and insects, and the foot sounds intertwined with natural rhythms, so that people can immerse themselves in it. Guides guides the hard-to-find wild plants and fungi, which are a fun to explore on foot. What impressed me most was an open viewing platform, where the valleys, rainforests and distant mountains were clear and the view was wide and quiet. The wetness of the rainforest and the refreshingness of the mountain breeze make the whole experience both relaxing and exhilarating. This hike is not a simple walk, but a rhythmic exercise in dialogue with nature, and the body and mind are re-adjusted by the forest.
