However, the scenic area is too commercialized and lacks sufficient entertainment value.
It is worthy of being called the No. 1 Pass in the World. The terrain is dangerous and the scenery is breathtaking. It has a rich history. The botanical garden is large and boasts a rich variety of species. In winter, visitors can only view the exhibits inside the buildings, but during other seasons, the entire garden is open to visitors. I was fortunate enough to see the firefly exhibition this time, which was quite a nice way to relive childhood memories. It's truly amazing how such tiny fireflies can emit such bright light. The plants inside the exhibits are as beautiful as ever.

The scenic area is fantastic, with shuttle bus service and various activities to participate in, such as via ferrata and bungee jumping, which are charged separately but reasonably. You could easily spend a whole day there, but you should allow plenty of time. We arrived around 1 PM and didn't have enough time to enjoy the activities; it was just too cold at night.
It's definitely worth a visit, I'll definitely go again. You should definitely have three days to explore properly; this time I only spent a day and a half, and it felt like I missed so much. Don't miss Bansui Mountain!

i had a really great time here. i even rented an audio guide (which was 40 or 45 rmb) so I could listen to each exhibit. my only complaint is that the audio guide kept turning itself to “auto” and skipping over where I actually was in the museum. i’m not sure I would recommend the audio guide because of that issue. when you exit the museum you can take a bus right outside the museum to some of the other locations nearby. if you don’t have a ticket, you can buy one for 2 RMB. the driver was kind and helpful.

When the bronze patterns between the pages gleam with a greenish-blue light, and the oracle bone inscriptions reveal their mottled marks under the lamplight, this moment is no longer just observation, but a solemn dialogue with an ancient civilization.
The museum's treasures awaken with the guide's eloquent narration—every thunder pattern on the bronzes seems to breathe, and the patina of the jade pendant hints at the smoke of sacrificial offerings. In the Fu Hao Tomb exhibition hall, the bronze axe, a symbol of military power, still exudes the dignified majesty of a female general; on the bronze gu from the Ya Chang Tomb, the eyes of the animal-face pattern still gaze upon us. The most stunning exhibit is undoubtedly the oracle bone script section. When animation transforms the pictographs into vibrant visuals, those mysterious symbols suddenly become approachable and tangible, as if one can hear the soft crackling of tortoise shells during divination.

We drove there and the transportation was very convenient. We happened to catch the Longtan Grand Canyon which had just rained. The whole scenic spot was full of beautiful scenery, and the sky and water were misty. There were pools, streams and waterfalls along the way. The scenery was beautiful and man and nature were in harmony. We took the scenic shuttle bus up the mountain and took the Tianchi cruise first, then took a bus to Longtan Waterfall, and then went down the mountain along the canyon line. The road was flat all the way and comfortable to walk, but you must wear non-slip shoes because the water system is too developed. Finally, we visited the Geological Museum and saw many rare stones and Paleozoic fossils in it. It was a very good experience. The most important thing is that after purchasing a ticket, you can enter for free all year round.
Longtan Grand Canyon is a good place to spend half a day. Some sights are accessible by car, while others require hiking. I still need to buy a ride service, otherwise I'll run out of time and my legs won't be able to walk.
