I've been to Wuzhen about three or four times, and every time I go, I have a different feeling. This time I went alone and it was early, so there weren't many people around. I took a leisurely stroll and it was quite pleasant.
Wuzhen's East and West Districts offer distinct yet complementary styles. Like a thread-bound book bound in raw rice paper, East District preserves the pristine character of the Ming and Qing dynasties, where residents continue their daily lives. It's very close to Jiashan city, and bus line 222 only takes 30 minutes. The Shenjiahu Expressway is also nearby, making travel very convenient. The commercial street behind the main entrance seems to have many abandoned shops, but it's much better as you walk inside. It's a pleasant place to sit by the river, have a cup of coffee, and have a small meal. I visited the Button Museum and the Wine Culture Museum, and it was quite pleasant to wander around. It's a nice ancient town.
I've been to Xitang Ancient Town many times—as a child, as a student, and now that I'm graduated and working, I still come back from time to time. The graceful charm of Jiangnan's water towns is probably something that no one from Jiangnan can resist.
Xitang is an ancient town with a thousand years of history and culture. Legend has it that during the Spring and Autumn Period, Wu Zixu of the Wu State developed water conservancy projects to facilitate canal transportation. He dug Wuzitang, diverting water from north of Xushan Mountain directly into the town, marking the beginning of Xitang's prosperity. Villages were established in the Tang Dynasty, and the area reached a large scale in the Song Dynasty. By the Ming and Qing Dynasties, it had developed into a major center for Jiangnan handicrafts and commerce.
Xitang Ancient Town is one of the four major water towns in Jiangnan, renowned for its graceful and elegant Jiangnan style. Its iconic corridors (over a kilometer long) and alleyways attract tourists from all over. After 5:00 PM each day, the scenic area is free to enter. As the sun sets and the neon lights light up, the night view of the water town is picturesque. If you're interested in boating on the river and pond, That's also fantastic.
On February 25, 2017, the Xitang Ancient Town Scenic Area in Jiaxing City was newly designated a National AAAAA-level Scenic Area, becoming the third National AAAAA-level scenic area in Jiaxing. The scenic area covers 3.03 square kilometers, including a 1.01 square kilometer core conservation area of the ancient town and a 2.02 square kilometer market town area.

The price of 120 for two people is quite good. The scenery of Puyuan is also very good, full of Jiangnan charm. It makes people reluctant to leave. If you can stay a little longer, take your time to look around and walk around, that would be the most beautiful!

It is still worth a visit. I visited during the May Day holiday. There were many people but not too crowded. It is suitable for families with elderly and children. There are many children at the water curtain wall. It is a good place to take pictures.
There weren't many people when we went. The tide wall at the entrance was a major attraction. Most people went there to check in. There was an NPC after entering, but it closed at 6 o'clock. We went in late and only played a few. The scenery was okay. There was a performance at the ancient stage at 6:15. After the performance, we walked around and took in the night view.
