At 2,962 meters above sea level, the Zugspitze is the highest mountain in Germany. It is located in the Eastern Alps. The Zugspitze range runs along the border between the German states of Bavaria and the Austrian state of Tyrol, between Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Mittenwald, Seefeld and Ewald in Tyrol. The Zugspitze slopes are a popular ski resort.
