The journey is a truly remarkable one, with world cultural heritage sites intertwined throughout. Many years from now, I might still recall these mountain streams, waterfalls, and creeks, the rain, dew, and gentle breezes, and my reverence for the gods!
The hiking experience of Kumano Kodo is very unique and unforgettable. The scenery along this ancient road is picturesque and the natural landscape is rich and diverse. During the hike, I felt the tranquility and magnificence of nature. At the same time, the facilities of this ancient road are well maintained, and the signboards are clear and concise, which provides great convenience for hikers. In addition, the local services and catering are also quite good, and the food is fresh and delicious. In general, Kumano Kodo is a hiking route that combines natural beauty and comfortable facilities. It is worth recommending to all people who love outdoor activities.

Kumano Nachi Taisha is one of the three famous places of worship in Kumano, along with Kumano Hayatama Taisha and Kumano Hongu Taisha. The main hall has a unique architectural style known as the Kumano style, and contains various valuable materials such as the Kumano Gongen Mandala, an important national cultural item, and the documents of Kumano Nachi Taisha. The main deity of Nachi Taisha is Kumano Fusumi Okami. On the 15th of every month, the shrine is cleansed. On that day, the clergy will use mountain spring water to mix amulet salt and wash the Buddha statue. This custom has been passed down for centuries.
The entire Nachi Mountain in Kumano is a scenic spot, and there are many places to visit. Kumano Nachi Taisha is one of them. There are also Seigantoji Temple and Hitaki Shrine next to it. Of course, these are strictly speaking also Kumano Nachi Taisha, mainly because the temple and shrine were separated later. But because the scenic spots are all on the mountain, climbing stairs is inevitable, which is a bit hard. Nachi Taisha is most famous for the Nachi Falls next to it, but you can basically not see the waterfall in Nachi Taisha. As the highest place on the mountain, the scenery seen from the mountain is still very beautiful. In addition, the lottery bucket here is quite unique and very large. It is called Benkei's lottery bucket, which is so large that it is not easy for an adult to shake it. I drew a Nakayoshi lottery bucket as a souvenir. In general, the most recommended of the three Kumano shrines is Nachi Taisha, because there are many tourists and the supporting facilities are the best, which is highly recommended.
