It's truly a cultural heritage site and well worth a visit. The Hani and Yi people, the indigenous inhabitants, are friendly and down-to-earth. Even in autumn, the scenery is magnificent and pleasant. For meals, all the vegetables are grown by the locals themselves, and are fresh, sweet, and affordable.
You have to go, how can you tell if it's fun here if you don't go and have a look. It's not far away, why not go in and take a look before leaving, right? Go and have a look, maybe it's worth the trip. You have to go, how can you tell if it's fun here if you don't go and have a look. Natural landscape -Ancient Ginkgo Group: The densest ancient ginkgo group in the world, presenting a golden ocean landscape in autumn -Small bridges and flowing water: The clear streams and ancient bridges in the core area form a poetic picture -Apricot Lake Bridge: A five-story pavilion-style wind and rain bridge spans across the Apricot Lake, where you can enjoy tea and view the scenery Humanistic relics -Ancient Post Road: An important section of the Yunnan-Guizhou Ancient Post Road and the Ancient Tea-Horse Road -Tree King: An ancient tree over 1,500 years old, although the upper part is withered, the lower part is still growing tenaciously -Ancient houses: Traditional tiled houses and ancient ginkgo trees complement each other
The ginkgo trees in Tuole Village are scattered throughout the village. Since we went there a week late, some of the trees had already shed their leaves, while some had not yet completely turned yellow. Walking in the village, the quaint buildings and thousand-year-old trees gave the village a sense of magic!

The scenery is beautiful, but there's some traffic. Traffic jams happen because some people think they're smarter than others and skip the line, overtaking from the side lanes and blocking oncoming traffic. I've taken photos of these cars skipping the line and exposing them, hoping to foster public scrutiny and promote social progress. We can't always let those who skip the line take advantage while those with public morals suffer.
This is the location mentioned in Chairman Mao's poem "The Long March." "The Five Ridges wind like gentle waves, the Wumeng Mountains are majestic and majestic, rolling in the mud." The great man's words are imbued with revolutionary passion. Back in 1935, at a time of national crisis, a group of Red Army troops, filled with revolutionary ideals to transform the world and build a new China, began their journey in the mountains of Jiangxi and Hunan. They were then forced into the Long March by counter-revolutionary encirclement and suppression. Eighty years ago, in today's peaceful times, have become a beautiful sight before our eyes. The hardships endured by the Red Army have become the roads we now face, the natural barriers we face now, and the world has been transformed! Arriving at the Wumeng Grassland, we'll find farmhouses and hotels along the way, each with its own cattle and sheep slaughterhouse. Herds of cattle and sheep abound, leisurely grazing amidst the blue sky, white clouds, and verdant mountains and clear waters. Here, too, there are groups of horseback riders and herders grazing their cattle. Galloping on horseback through the alpine meadows was such a joy... The road winds along, filled with seas of clouds, mountains, horses, cattle, sheep, and people unfettered by their own freedom, as well as tents and RVs of all colors. There are also campsites and people trekking up the canyon. Under the blue sky and white clouds, the people taking photos and checking in admirably embellish the beautiful scenery, a true reflection of the people's yearning and pursuit for a better life! The road may be long, but the journey will eventually lead to the destination! We also rode the bus through the rolling hills, letting our eyes take in the scenery and our hearts wander freely. Someone played "To the Clouds," which was perfectly fitting! Everyone sang and sang, taking in photos and checking in on the Cloud Plank Road. Occasionally, cattle and sheep would approach, unfazed. Many people drove along the mountain roads, but some cars unfortunately got stuck, causing traffic congestion in some sections. The weather in the mountains is unpredictable. Just one moment, the sky was clear, then suddenly it was overcast. From time to time, clouds would blow in, and then a moment later, a steady rain would fall... Perhaps this is the beauty and magic of the Wumeng Grassland. It's said that around 4 p.m., the Tyndall effect occurs, where sunlight scatters through clouds. If you're lucky, you might even witness the Buddha's light shining brightly. Due to time constraints, we didn't see it. We continued on our journey, passing through lush green mountains and clear waters, and then walked a long, poorly maintained road before reaching the Beipanjiang Bridge, said to be the world's tallest bridge at 600 meters. This is a great victory for our country's infrastructure, and it's a testament to the fact that mountain dwellers have transformed natural barriers into accessible roads, no longer feeling overwhelmed by the sight of mountains.

Very classic alpine grassland scenery, blue sky and white clouds, green grass and clear water. The scenery is quite beautiful. Children can ride horses. It was a bit crowded during the National Day holiday. We waited for nearly 40 minutes for the return shuttle bus.
I went there in the afternoon. The weather was good. The original pictures are so beautiful! It is suitable for self-driving. After all, it takes an hour to get to Huize County. The road is not easy to walk. You have to wear a jacket in late August. The altitude is 3500+, and there is a slight altitude sickness. You must eat the lamb skewers. It is delicious! Freshly cut, quite fresh.

[August Xizhou Ancient Town: In the rice fields and Bai customs, meet the romance of summer] August Xizhou Ancient Town is a treasure land filled with greenery and fireworks! Less than half an hour's drive from the ancient city of Dali, just got off the bus and was surprised by the endless rice fields at the entrance of the village. The green rice waves undulating with the wind, and some egrets passed by. The blue sky and white clouds lined the white tiles and white walls of the Bai people's houses. No wonder everyone runs here with their cameras. Time in the ancient town is very slow. The stone road is winding and twisting, and there are intact Bai old houses on both sides. The darts and the carved doors and windows are all exquisite. Walking in is like breaking into the time museum. The key point is to praise the Yanjia Courtyard, not only to see the exquisiteness of Bai architecture, but also to understand the history of Xizhou business gangs. The pomegranate trees in the yard are full of fruits, especially the atmosphere of life. In August, just in time for the local fruit peak season! The roadside stalls are full of yellow figs, sweet grapes, and freshly picked blueberries, affordable and fresh. Of course, Xizhou is indispensable. It is recommended to bake sweet mouths (rose filling) and salted mouths (pork end), the outer skin is crispy and the inner is soft, with a cup of milk fan Shaqima, and the carbide is happy to be directly full. I found a small shop by the river and sat down to eat, watched the flowing water, listened to the locals chatting in dialect. It's so pleasant. In the afternoon, you can rent a bicycle to ride along the rice fields, blow the wind through the fields, pass the villagers' vegetable fields and ponds, and feel the most simple pastoral scenery. In the evening, the light on the edge of the rice field became soft, taking pictures with filters, and many newcomers took wedding photos here, which was very romantic. The only thing to note is that it is a bit sun-dried in the afternoon of August, remember to do a good job of sun protection; there are a little more tourists on the main street of the ancient town, but you can find a cleanliness when you turn into the alley, suitable for slowly shaking. Overall, Xizhou does not have the hustle and bustle of Dali Ancient City, but has more idyllic and humanistic heritage. Come here in August, like putting the beauty of the whole summer in your hands, recommend it to friends who want to slow down and feel Dali ~
Well, the entire Dali Erhai Lake circle is about 80 kilometers long, and you will pass through many ancient towns in the middle, such as Xizhou Ancient Town. At the same time, there will be a lot of people renting cars, and you can also see many luxury cars. But you should pay attention to whether you choose to tour clockwise or counterclockwise. Sometimes, there will be more traffic jams in one direction.

I had hoped for a molten golden sunset by the sea, but instead, I encountered a lingering rainy day, which unexpectedly brought a unique tenderness. Lead-gray clouds hung low above the horizon, and the wind, wrapped in sea mist, blew against my face, bringing a salty, damp coolness that was far more soothing than the sweltering heat of a sunny day. The beach had lost its usual bustle, a few scattered footprints quickly smoothed by the rising tide. The fishing boats in the distance were blurred silhouettes in the mist, like a smudged ink painting. I found a small seaside shop, sat down, ordered a cup of hot ginger tea, and watched the rain slant into the sea, splashing tiny drops of water. Occasionally, a seagull flew past, close to the crest of the waves, its cries softened by the wind. Without the glare of the sun, even time seemed to slow down. No need to rush to tourist attractions or snap photos, just quietly listening to the crashing waves and rain was a more soothing experience than the bustle of a sunny day. A rainy evening by the sea lacked the expected breathtaking spectacle, but it brought an unexpected sense of relaxation. If you also want to avoid the crowds and find some quiet time, such a moment may be more worthwhile than a clear sky.
🌊 "Proven myself | Driving around Erhai Lake is the ultimate way to experience Dali's romantic charm!" If Dali's "romance" were a poem, then driving around Erhai Lake is the most free and unrestrained way to recite it! Renting a convertible here is very convenient and affordable. 💨 🚗 Step on the accelerator and enter a fairyland. ► Recommended: The Haidong Route! The road winds along the lake, and the car windows feel like a giant theater—Cangshan Mountain on the left, Erhai Lake on the right. Every turn is a "wow" moment! ► Don't miss the idyllic scenery of Haixi. Drive through rice paddies and villages, dotted with Bai ethnic minority dwellings. It's like stepping into a live version of a pastoral poem. 🌾 ► Pull over whenever you see a charming spot: take photos of the mirrored sky on the lakeside boardwalk, or wait for the sunset by the wetlands. Feel free to indulge in the feeling of freedom! 🌿 Ecological Corridor: Green healing on wheels. Don't underestimate the driving experience; the ecological experience is uncompromising! Cycle along the Ecological Corridor at night. The S-bend is bustling with activity, with many people singing and dancing. ✅ Enjoy breathtaking lake views throughout the ride. The waters of Erhai Lake are as clear as sapphires, and waterfowl dance in the wetlands along the shore. ✅ Pass by popular photo spots like the S-bend, the Corridor Bridge, and the Couple Tree, and hop off the bike to pose whenever you want. 📸 ✅ Play "Going to Dali" in the car while feeling the lake breeze—who knows this ambiance? 💡 Exclusive Tips ▪️ Vehicle Recommendation: Convertibles or cars with sunroofs are more photogenic! ▪️ Timeline: We recommend a morning sunrise or an afternoon departure, circling the lake counterclockwise to catch the golden sunset at Erhai Lake. 🌅 ▪️ Stops: Shuanglang Observation Deck, Wase Waterway, and Xizhou Ancient Town—each one is worth a stop! 🌟 Why is driving the best? Freedom! Spontaneity! No sun exposure! Perfect for lazy travelers, families, and couples—no need to ride in the scorching sun or hike, just hum along in the air-conditioned car and take in the breathtaking scenery. 📌 Follow me to unlock more magical routes! #DaliSelf-DrivingGuide #ErhaiStunningHighway #Wind,Flowers,Snow,MoonFreeTravel #TravelTips

Dali Ancient City is located in Dali Prefecture, Yunnan Province, bordering Erhai Lake and nestled against Cangshan Mountain. Construction began in 1382, the 15th year of the Hongwu reign of the Ming Dynasty. Its structure, a checkerboard-like grid of three streets and 18 alleys, features north-south city gates facing each other and east-west gates staggered. Three main streets run north-south, six alleys run east-west, and a network of secluded streets and lanes crisscrosses from west to east.
It is very suitable for being lazy, leisurely and slow-paced, with a petty-bourgeois style 😁. It is very comfortable to relax for half a month after work. In the afternoon, you can lie down in the courtyard, drink tea, and daydream. In the evening, you can buy a cup of special drinks, grab a special snack, and visit special shops. There are also many bars in the evening, listening to music and making tea around the fire. It is really comfortable.

It was unexpectedly good. People on the Internet said it was a bit confusing because the scenic spot was too big, and some people didn't do any strategy or read other people's articles before coming, so they felt that they were blinded when they arrived. In fact, as long as you do a strategy, you will know the fees and locations very clearly, so you won't step on the pits again and again. Sitting on the boat to watch the scenery is beautiful, and the cool breeze is very cool even in this hot August day. It is really a very pleasant trip
"Puzhehei" is a Yi word meaning "lake teeming with fish and shrimp." This karst wetland boasts 54 lakes, 312 isolated peaks, and 83 caves—it's truly breathtaking just to contemplate. The rolling mountains, crystal-clear lakes, and breathtaking cave scenery are truly breathtaking. Board a boat and journey toward the lake, where the scenery and gentle breeze blend seamlessly in the hazy morning light, creating a shimmering, ink-stained scroll. There are even playful water-splashing battles along the way! Climbing nearby Qinglong Mountain offers panoramic views of Puzhehei, which are particularly spectacular at sunset. The stunning scenery of lakes and mountains is a truly relaxing place worth lingering for a few days!

The snow-capped Cangshan Mountain ❄ is the most spectacular of Dali's four scenic spots: wind, flowers, snow, and moon, and a unique sight within Cangshan Mountain. It is renowned for its magnificent spectacle, blanketed in silver, which endures even in the summer. ⛰️Cangshan Mountain, also known as Dian Cangshan Mountain, is located in Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province. It stretches across the western side of Erhai Lake, facing the lake to the east and overlooking the Heihui River to the west. Cangshan Mountain boasts 19 peaks, each exceeding 3,500 meters in elevation, with the highest peak, Malong Peak, reaching 4,122 meters, making it a hiker's paradise. 🐾
The scenery is really beautiful, but there are too many people queuing for the cable car during the peak tourist season. The one-way trip takes about 10 minutes. You can also see the beautiful scenery of Erhai Lake from a high point.
