It was a good time to visit during off-peak summer vacation. Generally speaking, each museum was not too crowded. You could basically wait for the person in front of you to take pictures. Because it rained, we only visited three museums and did not go to other places. The only drawback was that it rained all day. There was a food street a few kilometers away from the parking lot. There was water everywhere. When I returned to the parking lot, my knees were all wet. The drainage was too poor.

The grottoes and stone carvings are large in scale, majestic, and the craftsmanship is exquisite... Unfortunately, most of the Buddha statues have been damaged beyond recognition, even statues as small as fingers have been damaged. It's a pity!
The 17.4-meter-tall Buddha was truly impressive. After climbing up, I immediately exclaimed, "Wow!" The Buddha possessed a profound presence, and I felt as if he were looking down upon me with compassion. The Longmen Grottoes are definitely worth a visit, though it's a shame to see many of the statues without heads. The scenic area is a bit underdeveloped, and there's a lot of walking involved, so I recommend wearing comfortable shoes.

Since I had a train to catch, I chose a short section of the city wall closer to the train station, from Anyuan Gate to Shangde Gate, a walk that took only a few minutes.
Due to off-peak travel times and poor weather, the city wall was sparsely populated, but it was still a pleasant experience.
Because I didn't pay attention when I came out, my phone battery was low. I was afraid that I wouldn't be able to use the phone to take the subway back, so I only walked half of the city wall and got off to take the subway back. It's a pity. Next time I have the chance, I will definitely walk the whole way.

There is a high-speed rail that goes directly to Mount Huashan from Xi'an. After getting off the high-speed rail, a taxi costs a few dollars to the foot of Mount Huashan. Time is tight and the weather is bad, so we took the North Peak cable car to take a quick look and then went down the mountain. The mountain is as steep as its reputation says. I will come again if I have the chance.

Definitely worth visiting! But you’ll need to understand mandarin, otherwise you’re there just for the effects. The performance was mesmerising, I really enjoyed the show.
It's beautiful and worth seeing. The only problem is that the seats are too close together and you have to endure the heat. But the outdoor live performance is acceptable. The overall performance is great and impressive. You can't do anything without buying the Ctrip lounge. You can't even walk around. The snacks are also very different from the pictures. The Hukou Waterfall on the Yellow River is definitely worth seeing to experience the majestic power of the Mother River. Both the Shanxi and Shaanxi sides said they could feel the roar of the Yellow River more clearly on their side. So, I suggest building a bridge so we can visit both sides and compare the two.

The Ten-Mile Painting Screen is quite nice, and it's even better on a sunny day. It was raining at the foot of the mountain when we went, but it stopped as we were climbing. It was foggy as we passed the Ten-Mile Painting Screen, so the scenery was quite nice. By the time we reached the Golden Summit, the fog was so thick that we couldn't see clearly from a distance.

Taking the direct bus to Xiaoxitian this time was an amazing experience! We were delighted by the hanging sculptures at the Thousand Buddha Temple, leaving us with unforgettable memories. The travel agency that ran this direct bus was true to their word, ensuring the bus departed on time even for just the two of us. Their service was incredibly thorough and responsible. The beautiful customer service representative at the agency called and texted the previous night to confirm the pickup point and time this morning. Bus number 3599, our tour leader and driver, took excellent care of us two elderly people along the way, patiently waiting for us to descend the mountain. A huge thumbs-up to them 👍👍 and a big thank you 🙏🙏!
It is really worth a visit. It is breathtaking, amazing, and I am in awe of the superb skills of the ancients. It is not only amazing but also very touching. I admire Shanxi for protecting this ancient building so well.
