Mount Laoshan, located in Laoshan District, Qingdao City, Shandong Province, is a famous tourist mountain in China and the highest peak on the Chinese coastline, earning it the nickname "The First Famous Mountain on the Sea." Mount Laoshan's terrain rises in the east and slopes gently in the west. Its main peak, Jufeng (also known as Laoding), stands at 1,132.7 meters above sea level, with a summit area of approximately 1.5 square kilometers. It has a warm temperate continental monsoon climate with distinct seasonal variations, abundant rainfall, moderate annual temperatures, and a mild climate. 17
Mount Laoshan boasts abundant, pure, and clear water resources, making it a key source of water for Tsingtao Beer. It boasts a diverse array of flora and fauna, with a forest coverage rate of 62.2% in the mountainous area, encompassing a variety of vegetation types, including forests, shrubs, grasses, and psammophytes. Furthermore, Mount Laoshan boasts abundant mineral resources, including granite, as well as 681 varieties of Chinese medicinal herbs, earning it the nickname "Natural Medicine Storehouse." Mount Laoshan's core tourist areas include seven scenic areas: Jufeng, Taiqing, Huayan, Yangkou, and Jiushui. Highlights include the Taiqing Enlightenment Tour, Jufeng Scenic Spots, Taiping Birthday Prayers, Huayan Blessings, and the Jiushui Art Gallery. Mount Laoshan is also one of the important birthplaces of Taoism in China, known as the "Second Great Forest of Quanzhen Taoism."
In 1982, Mount Laoshan became one of the first national key scenic spots and is currently a national AAAAA-level tourist attraction and a national forest park.
