When we arrived, the Suaeda grass was already turning a bit red, making it a pleasant drive with stops along the way. My only regret was arriving too early and missing out on the stunning colors. The rice paddy crabs were plump, not fishy or muddy. Although small, they were already quite tender. You can try them freshly cooked at a nearby stall before entering the scenic area.
The scenic area is very large and needs transportation to the scenic area, but now the small train has stopped running. If you don't have a car, taking a taxi in the scenic area will cost 150 yuan, which is not cheap. Tickets are already very expensive, and such prices for natural attractions are really not affordable. In addition, taking a taxi in the scenic area is far from the city, and you have to take a taxi without a meter. 40 yuan per person is a bit steep, and you have to share a car with others and sell them back. The only option for public transportation is the shuttle bus, which is cheap but very slow. The shuttle bus runs every half an hour or even longer. The supporting facilities are too poor. Tiger Beach Ocean Park is a large park, encompassing the Polar Hall, Coral Hall, Marine Animal Hall, Happy Theater, and Bird's Singing Forest. The halls are quite far apart, especially the Bird's Singing Forest, which is located outside the park. Seeing all the performances here would require 5-6 hours, or even a full day. The park has numerous dining options, allowing you to eat, drink, and have fun without leaving the park.

Changdao is truly beautiful on a sunny day! A special thank you to the driver of the Fairyland Source tour bus. He stepped on the accelerator so hard when he heard we were in a hurry to catch the boat back to Penglai that he even caused the bus to leak oil. Thank you also to the other passengers on the same bus for their understanding. We finally got on the boat back on time. It warms my heart ❤️
This is a truly quintessential island natural landscape, an ideal place to admire the sea-eroded landscape and experience the life of fishermen. Compared to some scenic areas, the permanent population here is still primarily local, with a relatively simpler customs. While dining prices are slightly higher than off-island, this is understandable given the transportation costs involved. This was my second visit to the island, and after seven or eight years, the basic tourist services haven't changed much. While carbon reduction and control efforts are understandable as an ecological pilot area, more effort should be put into tourism services and infrastructure.

The scenic area consists of a hotel complex on land, a beach, and Bangchui Island. The island's main peak, 48.1 meters above sea level, is uninhabited.

Last year, I visited Jiayuguan, the highlight of the Great Wall, which is a desert. This year, I decided to visit the starting point, which was truly spectacular.
The Laolongtou scenic spot opens at 5:00 AM, and we arrived at 7:30 AM. It was already packed. If you want to take pictures of the clean estuary, you might want to arrive even earlier. After climbing the tower, the sea and beach are just below, a beautiful sight.
I took my kids to Shanhaiguan for summer vacation in July to escape the heat. It felt like the north wasn't cool either, and visiting scenic spots in the heat was a challenge.
I regret not visiting famous attractions, but I also regret visiting them because they were too crowded and the experience wasn't great. It was a sunny day, and looking up at the ticket gate, I was struck by the magnificent clouds, almost as if I could touch them.
There's an Old Dragon Head soda shop in the scenic area, with a striking sign. We walked through the Ninghai Gate and into Longwuying, then onto the Bagua maze, which my kids loved and figured out after a short walk. By then, we were exhausted from the heat.
Next, we reached the highlight of the area. The beach and the spectacular sight of the city merging into the sea were truly breathtaking, but it was a shame it was so crowded during summer vacation. I brought beach shoes; my kids loved playing in the sand and walking along the beach to enjoy the cool water. Swimming isn't allowed, but there are free foot baths.
Veteran cardholders can enter for free with their card. Others need to book online one day in advance.
