Tianmen Mountain in Zhangjiajie is very beautiful, but the ticket price is too expensive.
Overall, it was a pretty good experience. Spending a day exploring Tianmen Mountain was quite enjoyable. After reaching the summit, I hiked both the east and west routes, and the scenery was captivating. The day before the hike, it rained and was very windy, but the weather was perfect on the day of the climb! The view from the summit was beautiful and definitely worth a visit.

While planning the trip, it felt chaotic, but once inside, the scenic area was very well-planned; there was nothing to worry about, just follow along. The area is enormous, so transportation is essential, and the景区 (scenic area) handled this very well. Although the prices weren't cheap, they were definitely worth it. You absolutely must visit Zhangjiajie at least once; the scenery is unlike anything else. I went on a sunny day; it would have been even better with some mist and clouds.
Zhangjiajie, world-renowned, certainly has something special, especially the misty, cloud-shrouded scenery while climbing. This unique landscape is mesmerizing. After crossing the Natural Bridge, looking back reveals that this naturally formed giant stone cave has only a thin layer of mist covering it. Looking at it from afar, one can only marvel at the wonders of creation; I hadn't noticed it at all when I was walking through! 😂 The mountains and valleys are like two different worlds, making a trip to Zhangjiajie quite strenuous. One day is spent admiring the mountain scenery and sea of clouds, and the other day is spent traversing streams and canyons – a truly wonderful experience!

After consulting numerous travel guides, I finally decided to go west and then east. The scenery along the way certainly lived up to my expectations, and the 5.5-kilometer hike was well worth it. Fanjingshan, known as the "City in the Sky," truly lives up to its name.
The Old Golden Summit and the Red Cloud Golden Summit are worth climbing, although it's tiring, the scenery is quite unique. Seeing the cloud-shrouded peaks requires a bit of luck. Generally speaking, it's best to climb the Red Cloud Golden Summit early, as the path is narrow, allowing only one person at a time, and quite steep. If the person in front is too tired and needs rest, those behind can't overtake and will have to wait. Too many people can easily cause traffic jams.

All the ancient cities, towns, villages, and fortresses are pretty much the same. A river runs through the village, and it's very lively at night. I think the management of the scenic area is quite mature compared to others.
It's worth seeing. I recommend doing your research beforehand to avoid backtracking. Overall, it's a very good experience. Just be aware that the sightseeing bus stops running after 10:30 am.

The Hunan Provincial Museum (Hunan Provincial Cultural Relics Appraisal Center) is a public institution directly under the Hunan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, located at No. 50 Dongfeng Road, Kaifu District, Changsha City, Hunan Province. It is one of the first batch of national first-class museums in China, one of the eight national key museums jointly built by the central and local governments, and the largest comprehensive historical and art museum in Hunan Province. The Hunan Provincial Museum was originally built in 1897 (the 23rd year of the Guangxu Emperor's reign). Its current location is its new building, which opened on November 29, 2017. On July 30, 2022, it was renamed Hunan Provincial Museum, and in October 2025, it reverted to its original name, Hunan Provincial Museum. The location is excellent, making it convenient for sightseeing. It's also very quiet at night, with no noise from downstairs. There are plenty of restaurants nearby, and the staff are very friendly. Overall, a great experience!
Orange Isle is a famous scenic spot in Changsha, known for its Mao Zedong Youth Statue and the Xiangjiang River scenery. This was our first stop in Changsha, accompanying my elderly relatives.
We bought night cruise tickets and a mini-train in advance through Ctrip. We took Metro Line 2 to Orange Isle, then transferred to the mini-train to take photos at the head of the isle. We arrived at the pier half an hour early to board the cruise. The entire trip took 70 minutes, and the Xiangjiang River light show was fantastic! 👍

It's a great place for taking photos, and you can also stroll along the riverbank afterwards. If you're interested in literature, it's actually quite worthwhile to appreciate. However, since I had a child with me, I just rushed through the sights. 😂

The optional viewing deck CNY40 and lunch CNY20 (cheap) should be displayed upfront when booking. Follow the instructions closely on wechat as you are on your own and can be confusing with different groups on the same bus and crowded at the location. Highly recommended.
