The Medina of Tunis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is a maze of narrow alleys. I visited on a rainy day, and the combination of the old cityscape and the overcast sky created a beautifully nostalgic atmosphere.
The capital of Tunisia is Tunis. We flew back to China from here. Tunis is a very nice city, especially the old city which is very charming. However, when we went there, it was a period of chaos in Tunisia and the city management was average.

The oldest mosque in Tunis and whether you are muslim or not this a place that should be visited. The building is beautiful. The courtyard is impressive and the tower looks imposing. When not being used for prayer the door to the mosque is open but with an attendant in charge so that tourists cannot just wander in. But if you are pleasant to him and offer a donation he will use your camera to take some photos inside. This is a very historical building and really worth a visit
The Republic of Tunisia (la Répubique Tunisienne, Arabic: الجمهورية التونسية‎), abbreviated as Tunisia[1], is located at the northernmost tip of the African continent, facing the Mediterranean Sea to the north and east, and across the Tunis Strait from the Italian island of Sicily. It is a key point in the east-west shipping of the Mediterranean. It borders Libya to the southeast and Algeria to the west. Its capital is Tunis. It has a land area of 162,000 square kilometers and a population of 11.9 million (2021), more than 90% of whom are Arabs and the rest are Berbers. The country is divided into 24 provinces.
