To get to Walden Pond, you need to take the morning commuter train from Boston North Station in Massachusetts to Concord. After getting off the train, walk southeast along Thoreau Street, then turn right at the first big intersection and walk straight toward Walden Street. After crossing a big intersection with a traffic light, continue walking a short distance forward and you will find Walden Pond on the right. The distance from Concord Train Station to Walden Pond is about five kilometers, and there is no public transportation or taxis.
This secret place, which is famous all over the world because of the title of the book, left a deep impression on me many years ago. At that time, the teacher said that he was reading Walden for the third time. Car rental: This place is not on the list of popular scenic spots. I left as soon as I said I would. I packed up and went out at 11 am and walked to the store for 10 minutes. The front desk was very enthusiastic! We provided the translation and name and address, and we went to the parking lot to pick up the car after giving the key. Departure: It was very smooth to drive all the way. It took more than 40 minutes to arrive. There is a parking lot next to the lake. It is self-service parking fee, 15 dollars a day, and then put the receipt on the car window. Just when we haven't figured out how to charge by the hour, an enthusiastic foreign lady next door came to ask us if we want a parking ticket, because they were about to leave, so they parked a free car. . . There is a visitor center in the parking lot, which contains some old items used by Thoreau, as well as some cultural and creative peripheral products. Just cross the road to Walden Lake! Lake viewing: You can enter the lake without a ticket. At first glance, it looks a bit like the fish pond at the head of my hometown village. There were not many people, and some foreign brothers sat quietly by the lake thinking about life. We decided to walk around the lake, which took about 30 minutes to complete. The sun was about to set, and we began to feel the beauty of the lake as we walked along the lake. The lake was calm and the green shades were intertwined, which really made people feel calm. Thoreau's tomb is located in the jungle by the lake. He may really be inseparable from this calm lake. Walk and chat, and feel this peace.
