In the Peloponnese region, on the top of a hill east of the town of Nafplio, stands the Palamidi Castle. This is a magnificent fortress built during the second occupation of the Republic of Venice. Following the steep marble path, we visited this typical Baroque fortress designed by engineers Giaxich and Lasalle. Although the sea breeze was blowing in our faces, the heat of the sun was still unbearable. At one point, we even suspected that we were asking for trouble. When we reached the seaside viewing platform, our vision suddenly widened. We could see the town of Nafplio at our feet, the undulating buildings, the ships dotted in the vast sea, the Bourz Castle like a giant in the sea, and the defensive walls of the fortress on the hillock were also clearly visible. The white clouds were lingering, and the starry sails were dotted. Such a dreamy sea view is really hard to come by~
