If compared with the ancient monuments in China, the gap is huge. But the style is different. It can open your eyes and let you learn about the ancient culture of the world. If you have time, you can go and check in.
On the way back to Athens from Zakynthos, we braved the scorching sun to visit the World Cultural Heritage - Mycenae. Located between two tall conical hills in the Peloponnese region in southern Greece, Mycenae, once the capital of Asia Minor in Homer's epic legend, was built by Perseus and ruled by Agamemnon during the Trojan War. This city, once thought to be just a legend, was excavated in the 19th century due to the unremitting efforts of German archaeologist Heinrich Schliemann and was able to see the light of day again. In fact, in the second millennium BC, Mycenae It is indeed the most important city on the Greek mainland. It ruled a vast area in the southern Aegean Sea. It ruled the Aegean Plain. It controlled the routes of land and sea. The civilization it represents is called Mycenaean civilization. It is also the greatest civilization in Greek prehistory. The Mycenaean ruins retain the remains of the world city that ruled the eastern Mediterranean from the 15th to the 12th century BC. The archaeological site starts from the Lion Gate and spirals up to the Acropolis. The ruins in the west and southwest are burial and living places. The royal palace, which is only left with broken walls, stands on the top of the mountain. It witnessed the prosperity from 1350 to 1200 BC. Because it played a vital role in the development of classical Greek culture, it was selected as a World Cultural Heritage by UNESCO in 1999~

The attraction is free. Standing on the bridge, you can see through both ends. There is a tourist service point at the bridge head. The canal is spectacular and worth visiting, but it is relatively narrow and has little shipping value. I bought some Greek specialties and a few knives in a nearby specialty store. Two of them were confiscated by the airport, which was quite a pity.
Heading west from Athens First stop to visit the Corinth Canal 5.5 kilometers long Corinth Canal with a depth of 79 meters Coordinates southwest of Athens It is the deepest canal in the world It is also one of the very few canals dug in hard stone areas. This inconspicuous narrow waterway Provides a maritime shortcut from the Aegean Sea to Ionia Save time and cost for small and medium-sized ships For accommodating supertankers in modern shipping and container ships This canal is still too small AD 67 During the reign of Roman Emperor Nero Start digging the canal This huge project Most It was borne by Jewish prisoners from the Roman Empire's Jewish colonial areas. Due to unrest in other parts of the empire Work ceased in AD 68 1892 A French company begins construction of the canal 1893 The project was completed by the Greek government very long canal Crossing the Isthmus of Corinth Providing a maritime shortcut from the Aegean Sea to Ionia A road bridge spanning a canal Pedestrian paths exclusively for tourists Provided the opportunity to take photos The sun is shining The water in the canal emits a dreamy blue-green color Beside the monument I actually found a smiling Greek dog So cute~

For a coastal town like Nafplio, the Palamidi Castle is a landmark that is almost visible everywhere. As the afterglow of Venice, it witnessed their glory and also witnessed the misfortunes of Greece. However, it is admirable that small Venice can cross the Adriatic Sea, the Ionian Sea, and reach the eastern Mediterranean.
In the Peloponnese region, on the top of a hill east of the town of Nafplio, stands the Palamidi Castle. This is a magnificent fortress built during the second occupation of the Republic of Venice. Following the steep marble path, we visited this typical Baroque fortress designed by engineers Giaxich and Lasalle. Although the sea breeze was blowing in our faces, the heat of the sun was still unbearable. At one point, we even suspected that we were asking for trouble. When we reached the seaside viewing platform, our vision suddenly widened. We could see the town of Nafplio at our feet, the undulating buildings, the ships dotted in the vast sea, the Bourz Castle like a giant in the sea, and the defensive walls of the fortress on the hillock were also clearly visible. The white clouds were lingering, and the starry sails were dotted. Such a dreamy sea view is really hard to come by~
