The Root Palace Buddhist Kingdom is absolutely stunning! Thousand-year-old tree roots are transformed into Buddhas and Arhats by skilled craftsmen, each with a unique and incredibly lifelike expression. Strolling through it, the Zen-inspired gardens blend seamlessly with the art of root carving. After your visit, you'll feel completely at peace. It's truly a hidden gem, both off the beaten path and breathtakingly beautiful.
This 5A scenic area, themed around root culture, boasts a rich and impressive collection of offerings. Not only do they feature root carvings depicting key figures from Confucianism, Buddhism, and Taoism, but they also feature familiar historical figures and stories, the 56 ethnic groups, and a variety of Chinese zodiac animals (I particularly enjoyed the zodiac at the Children's Fun Park). A full tour should take at least three hours. We entered through the south gate and exited through the north gate, and the walk back to the south gate is about 1.5 kilometers. If you're parking elsewhere or staying at the Negong Sanfang Hotel, consider the time it takes to get back to your starting point.

Mazhandi, located next to the Quzhou Ancient City Cultural Tourism Area, is known as the best place to eat in Quzhou. There are many food stalls here, and you can find Quzhou duck heads, fried dough sticks, and other delicacies. You can rest here when you are tired from exploring the ancient city. However, most of the stalls require queuing. Quzhou people love spicy food, so be prepared. You can ask them to cook non-spicy food, but the taste will not be as good.
This is a journey through Shuiting Gate, where you'll experience both history and the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
Shuiting Gate is truly the symbol of Quzhou's ancient city. Passing through the towering ancient gate and ascending the city wall, you'll be greeted by the surging Qujiang River and modern buildings on one side, and the endless expanse of horse-head walls and ancient buildings on the other. It's as if you've traveled back a thousand years in an instant.
In the neighborhood, the ancient Tianwang Pagoda is a must-see landmark, while the "Three Streets and Seven Alleys" offer many hidden surprises. What captivated me most was the local flavor: the crispy Quzhou pancakes, tender and juicy on the inside; the crystal cakes paired with mint water offer a refreshing cooldown; and the spicy and fragrant "Three Heads and One Palm" dish is a truly unforgettable experience.
If you visit in the evening, don't miss the light show, where the ancient city wall transforms into a new story through the play of light and shadow.
Shuiting Gate is like a "museum without walls." A brief visit is enough to immerse yourself in Quzhou's rich historical heritage and vibrant urban life.

The Tianji Longmen Gorge shrouded in mist has a unique charm, as if stepping into a fantasy world or another dimension. The staff are also very polite and welcoming, greeting visitors with both hands, which is very pleasant.
Overall, this scenic area was excellent. The walkways were very well-maintained and without any damage.
The staff provided excellent service and thorough explanations of the area, including helpful tips for walking around. Overall, a very good experience, 5 stars!
