The scenery on the cruise was breathtaking, even from the cabin, even in the rain.

It's really hot in the summer, and by 8 a.m. there were already quite a few people there. Climbing up Yueyang Tower and looking out, I saw that the water of Dongting Lake was quite murky. The "green snail" on Junshan Mountain was actually flat. I really admire the imagination of the ancients.
Those who don't want to retrace their steps can exit through the North Gate, but the location shown on Gaode is different from the actual location. The North Gate is now located "by the lake," requiring you to "walk down the mountain," exit the gate, and then "walk up the mountain" to reach the roadside.

The cave is a typical karst landscape, with a long section consisting of a boat trip and a walking tour. The scenery inside the cave is beautiful, and the temperature is cool, making it a perfect escape from the heat. I booked a 298 yuan premium ticket, which included a dedicated female guide who accompanied me throughout the tour. The service was excellent and highly recommended. The boat ride was a separate boat from the VIP dock, eliminating the queues. We were able to board a separate boat, which carried two of us. Regular tickets require a queue, with about 10 to 20 people sharing a boat. The experience was wonderful. The only slight quibble was buying a luminous pearl for 240 yuan inside the cave, only to find it was only 20 yuan outside the cave entrance. I couldn't tell the difference, and the website said it wasn't natural. I didn't understand; I bought it because it looked so beautiful in the dim light inside the cave, and I felt a bit ripped off. The pictures are below. The smaller one is the more expensive one inside, while the larger one is a street vendor's item. I hope a member of the scenic area staff can explain the difference. It's a true wonder of nature. There's no mountain to climb. Aside from the cable car and elevator, the path is flat and flat. While there's a slight incline, it's still very easy to walk on. The scenery is breathtaking. It rained for a while halfway up the mountain, but it was even more beautiful after it cleared up.
We take our kids hiking every summer, and this was by far the easiest hike we've ever taken. The trail is very flat and mostly accessible, perfect for strollers and wheelchairs. The mountain is incredibly cool, which is wonderful in the summer.
