1. The price for makeup and styling at the foot of the mountain is the same at 168 RMB for adults (128 RMB for children). Going up the mountain is more expensive 🥹! They all do assembly-line makeup (there's no question of whether it looks good or not), and the clothes are all the same, so any one of them is fine (I went into every one and asked) [cute R]; there aren't many options for children's makeup and styling, as not every one has nice children's clothes 😇.
2. For photos, choose the one up the mountain; it's more expensive down there. #HuanglingFollow360😤! A shop downstairs at #HuanglingWaterStreet is 199 RMB for a 20-minute follow-up (30 RMB for 10 RMB), which is a much better deal 🥳. I went to the first shop upon entering the scenic area and set up my own set for 5 photos for 100 RMB (although the photos turned out great), but when I walked in and saw this shop, I immediately felt like I'd missed out 😤! 3. There's no need to stay on the mountain. I called all three hotels there at this time, and each one said they didn't include entrance fees to the scenic area. 😒 Also, the mountain path is difficult to navigate, so consider carefully if you're lugging luggage. While taking photos from the hotel's upper floors is nice, non-guests aren't allowed up there. Consider your needs accordingly. 🤩
4. There are many well-known accommodations at the foot of the mountain, and they all include shuttle service to the scenic area. 🥳 Staying at a hotel halfway up the mountain saves you the cable car fare, which requires a 10-kilometer hike to the entrance of the scenic area, which I find even more inconvenient. The #HuanglingScenicArea ticket is 120 yuan, and the cable car is 145 yuan (round trip), saving you 20 yuan and leaving you stranded. 🫣
5. Eating is all on the street across from the scenic area at the foot of the mountain. There's no other food options elsewhere; that's the only developed area. 🤭 The street near the road is okay, but the ones inside aren't. #AlleyRestaurant (super bad) 🤯! There's not much food inside the scenic area, just drink shops. 6. There's really nothing much to do here, and it's all man-made, but the photos are amazing! 🥰 Daytime photos are better than nighttime ones, so I recommend going up the mountain during the day.
7. I stayed at Wuyuan Shifen Shiman B&B (Huangling Resort Branch). I highly recommend the service! They included a fruit plate! There were also snacks in the room! They said breakfast was for two, but the owner let us eat with a group! 🥹 The amenities are all smart, and best of all, they're pet-friendly! There's also a small gift upon check-out. The only downside is that it's on the roadside, so there's the sound of passing buses in the mornings, but I don't think it's a big deal. For 240 per room, why would you even need a bicycle? 😙
8. Regarding point 7, the restaurant across from the hotel is absolutely delicious! It's even better than the one across from the scenic area! 😍
9. Note: #WangxianValley, #Wunuzhou, #Huangling, and #Gexiancun are not the same place; they're all about an hour's drive apart! 😅! Only Shangrao and Wuyuan have bullet train stations; the others require #DidiChuxing! The best route is Huangling (daytime fun) → Wunuzhou (night stay) → WangxianValley (day two) → Gexiancun (day three). I went the wrong way and missed Gexiancun.
