Graz is the second largest city in Austria, straddling the Mur River, a tributary of the Danube. A small castle was built in the 10th century and a town was built in 1240. After 1379, it was the seat of the Leopold Habsburg royal family.
The city is not very big, but walking around the central square of the old city, you can feel the long history and culture, the clean and tidy roads, and the trams with people and cars, which makes people feel as if they are in the medieval period deep in Europe.
