Dinner at KHOP CHAI DEU. It means "thank you" in Chinese. It is a combination of traditional and western food. Actually, I have been to KHOP CHAI DEU twice before, and every time I had nothing but beerlao. This time, I am grateful to Ms. LI for bringing me to discover the real KHOP CHAI DEU. In addition to the great LAO Gira fruit wine, there is also a great band and very happy Laotian aunties. Yes, life is that simple.
Dinner Not impressed- a lot of waiting staff big menu , but poor food at quite high prices . As others have mentioned request for a green papaya salad with very little spice resulted in a standard small and not very good green papaya salad with a whole red chili for about 100 grammes of papaya. The mango sticky rice was ok but twice the size in the menu picture than the one we were served. The fish and chips for the children was bland and served with a sweet mayonnaise- not good at all. There are so many good restaurants in Vientiane, not worth coming here for food.

Vientiane, the capital of Laos, is not quite what you imagine. I must strongly recommend this restaurant, Kualao Restaurant. It is really super delicious, especially the rice ball dessert, the coconut flavor is endless. The restaurant is very close to the Black Pagoda, so you can go there by the way. During the day, visit the Arc de Triomphe, That Luang Temple, Simeon Temple, and the Emerald Buddha Temple. You can buy a ticket to climb the Arc de Triomphe to see the capital~ And taking a taxi here is really a rip-off. The starting price for a taxi from the hotel is 50rmb... I even doubted whether I was in Southeast Asia.
Nice to visit for an occasion but pricey and rushed Felt a bit rushed and the waiter wasn’t very friendly but maybe because we were quite dressed down. The bill was 250,000 KIP for 2 people (1 starter, 1 beer, 2 x main meals). Felt pricey and didn’t really enjoy the chicken laab (they didn’t tell us you’re meant to eat it wrapped up in lettuce and we only realised after we’d had most of it). It’s a nice place to celebrate an occasion but there a better local places to try Lao food without feeling like you’re in the wrong place.

Food and entertainment you''ll never forget A local driver suggested this restaurant and we invited him to join us. We were thrilled by the dancers who performed a few times to Lao music that was played on acoustic instruments. We had the traditional lab and everything that was recommended by the waiter. The place is huge and a large group was present having a good time. The only surprise was that the restaurant closed earlier than we New Yorkers expected.
It's a pretty good restaurant, the food tastes quite authentic, and there are many locals who come here to eat. The spicy shrimps are especially delicious!

Kung's Cafe Lao 1⃣️Beef🐂 The meat is very tender. Remember to dip it in the sauce. 2⃣️Grilled fish The fish is also tender! But I don't like the noodles (?) and the dipping sauce is like chopped chili🌝 3⃣️Green curry chicken soup is just okay 4⃣️Grilled glutinous rice. I ordered it based on the recommendation but I didn't get the taste of it😬
Tucked away little gem! My friend recommended I scout out this cafe after having visited the COPE visitor centre (a must see!) and I was not disappointed! I got the coconut coffee because again I was told it was the best drink and it was lush! The only problem was that it was blended, so as it settled, 1/3 of my drink seemed to disappear! The vibe is also amazing, loved it!

Taste of Laos Decided to try some real Laos food for a change and weren''t disappointed . I particularly appreciated the range of vegetarian dishes on offer and our meals didn''t cost us a fortune . Friendly proprietor and unsophisticated surroundings !
The Mekong fish roe cakes in this restaurant are delicious! The pineapple fried rice is also delicious, and the service attitude is pretty good!

A shop in the center of Vientiane. I passed by and went in to try it. The rice noodles were super delicious.
Sisters! When you come to Vientiane, you must check in at this fairy old shop-Pho Zap Opened in 1958, it has been focusing on a bowl of noodles for 65 years. Even locals line up to eat! After eating, I just want to say: What a fairy taste this is! 😭 🔥【Must-order recommendation】 ✅Signature beef noodles: The soup is so fresh that the soul is out of the body, the beef is so tender that it melts in the mouth, and the rice noodles are slippery. The sense of happiness bursts after one bite! ✅Laos spring rolls: crispy skin, rich fillings, dipped in secret sauce, it is so delicious that you can't stop! ✅Remember to add their chili sauce, spicy and addictive, instantly enhance the taste buds experience! 📍【Location】 In the center of Vientiane, you can find PHO ZAP by searching on Google Maps. It is very close to the Arc de Triomphe. Go directly after visiting the attractions! 💡【Tips】 1️⃣It is recommended to go in the morning or at noon, it may be sold out in the afternoon! 2️⃣A bowl of noodles costs only 20 RMB, which is a great value for money! 3️⃣The boss is very enthusiastic and will introduce the dishes in Chinese, which is a perfect experience! 📸【Photography and Check-in】 The retro sign at the door of the store is very old-fashioned, and it is a blockbuster when you take a photo! Don’t rush to eat the rice noodles when they are served, take a photo, and your circle of friends will cry with greed! Sisters, don’t miss this restaurant when you go to Vientiane! You will come back to thank me after eating! #老牌号 #旅行必吃

This restaurant is one of the restaurants that Ctrip Food Forest often recommends, so it is a good idea to come here to taste the delicious food. It is really good and the environment is also very good!

Nice place for dine and drinks I had Dinner here with my friends, we''re ordered Steaks, Salad, shell, spaghetti and etc. The steaks was good quality but spaghetti with salmon which I ordered look like papaya salad may be their signature dish. Overall is great but a bit pricey.

🍽️🇱🇦 #LePadaekReview #PremiumLaoFood #Vientiane If you're looking for a Lao restaurant with bold, harmonious flavors, a great atmosphere, and a relaxed, fine-dining feel, this is the place for you! 📍Lepadeck (or Le Padaek) is a contemporary Lao restaurant you shouldn't miss. 🪑 Atmosphere: Warm, elegant, and modern with a touch of Lao culture. Perfect for a special meal, dinner with friends, or even bringing international clients for a deeper Lao experience. 🍲 Recommended Dishes: Tam Luang Prabang: A signature dish! Made with large, shredded papaya. Rich flavors Spicy Duck Salad / Cooked Pork Salad: Fragrant with herbs, authentic Lao style, but beautifully served. Steamed Fish / Bamboo Shoot Curry / Grilled Chicken: Fragrant, strong flavors, and not stingy with the ingredients. Sticky rice served in a traditional bamboo steamer – absolutely delicious. A full range of drinks and desserts are also available, beautifully presented, and every dish smells of herbs. 💬 Service: The staff speak English, are friendly, and provide detailed menu explanations. They're very attentive. 💰 Price: May be a bit higher than your average restaurant (like a premium restaurant), but worth it for the quality, taste, and atmosphere. 📸 Plenty of photo opportunities, both inside and on the plates. Perfect for reviewers and foodies. --- ✨ Summary: If you want to try traditional Lao cuisine presented in a contemporary way, this is the place to go! The flavors are "authentic Lao" but served in a "international" style, perfect for Laotians, Thais, and international tourists. One of the must-haves in Vientiane. ✨ #LePadaek #AuthenticLaoFood #DeliciousVientianeRestaurant #LaotianCuisine #EatLaos to the roots
