It was a great experience seeing the pandas so close. Ju.st be aware that you need to fo early morning to see the pandas in action, as they get less active the later the day. I would recommend starting from the west gate, as there are less people than the south gate( there is a subway and bus direct to West gate)
Tickets worked perfect. Amazing place to see so many pandas. It rained when we were there but only for a while but some.of the pandas are still actively eating even with the rain. This place is massive so prepare to walk a lot but absolutely worth it to see so many pandas.

Teacher Kaige's explanations were incredibly clear and logical, progressing step-by-step from the origins of cultural relics to their cultural significance. His language was both accessible and insightful, and the three-hour lecture was anything but boring. The children listened with rapt attention and even learned many interesting facts not found in their textbooks! The service throughout was also meticulous and thoughtful. A small group chat was created beforehand, providing helpful information on how to get to the meeting point using various transportation options. "Big Shots Talk" offers high-quality service and is highly recommended! 👍👍👍
Visiting the Sanxingdui exhibition definitely requires a guided tour! The automated guides feel too stiff; a human guide is much better. Miss Strawberry was incredibly dedicated throughout, explaining everything in great detail and answering all our questions. She helped us understand the history and this place with so many unsolved mysteries. The three-hour tour was tiring, but overall, it was well worth the trip!

A certain level of cultural understanding is needed to truly appreciate Du Fu and his thatched cottage. Even a visit to Du Fu's thatched cottage that sparks his interest, prompts him to recite his poems, and helps him learn about the events surrounding his life is worthwhile.
Du Fu Thatched Cottage—the "Chengdu Home" of the Poet Saint of a Thousand Years. This is the former residence of Du Fu during his exile in Chengdu, and it is also the largest, best-preserved, and most famous memorial site for a poet in China, hailed as a "sacred site in the history of Chinese literature." It is located at No. 37 Qinghua Road, Qingyang District, Chengdu. From the winter of the second year of the Qianyuan era of Emperor Suzong of Tang (759 AD) to the first year of the Yongtai era (765 AD), Du Fu, to escape the An Lushan Rebellion, brought his family to Sichuan and built a thatched cottage on the banks of the Huanhua Stream. He lived there for three years and nine months, writing more than 240 famous poems. Key Highlights: Daya Hall: The largest area (approximately 400 m²) of glazed inlaid lacquer murals in China, showcasing 12 representative works including "My Thatched Cottage Is Broken by the Autumn Wind" and "The Ballad of the War Chariots." Visitors can immerse themselves in the poems by scanning QR codes. Thatched Cottage Residence: Reconstructed at a 1:1 scale based on Du Fu's poems and archaeological sites, featuring mud walls, a thatched roof, and a bamboo fence, recreating the scene of "a leaky roof with nowhere dry by the bedside." Poetry History Hall: A bronze statue of Du Fu stands in the center, with a plaque inscribed "Poetry History." It displays Song, Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasty editions and foreign language translations, demonstrating the global influence of Du Fu's poetics. Huanhua Stream with Sparse Shadows: The Tang dynasty waterway still exists today. In summer, the banks are fragrant with lotus blossoms, and in winter, plum blossoms sway in the windows, making it the most poetic backdrop for photos at the thatched cottage. Wanfo Tower: Reconstructed in 2005, it stands 36 meters tall. From its railing, one can see the Xiling Snow Mountain to the north and Wanli Bridge to the south, making it one of the "Ten New Scenic Spots of Chengdu." Red Wall and Bamboo Path: A nearly 100-meter-long Qing dynasty red wall between the flower path and the thatched cottage temple, lined with lush bamboo, creates dappled sunlight and shadows, earning it the title of "Chengdu's Most Beautiful Chinese-Style Corridor." A thatched cottage, half of Tang history; red walls and bamboo shadows, the soul of poetry lives on forever.

On the way to Dujiangyan, we went there early in the morning. The parking lot was closed for some reason. The area inside wasn't very big, but there were about eight or nine giant pandas eating breakfast, munching on bamboo leaves—they were so adorable! There were also red pandas, which were especially cute. We were able to see them up close.
All the Panda are sleeping by the time we arrived. But they still very cute and have a lesser crowd. Easy to take photos and a nice morning stroll. Recommended!

Ms. Li Rong's explanations greatly enhanced this trip. Her explanations were insightful yet easy to understand, and she cited numerous historical examples. I believe she is one of the top guided tour guides I've had at museums, and I highly recommend her. The overall quality of the guided tours is exceptionally high.
Sanxingdui is renowned for its massive bronze artifacts, such as the bronze sacred tree and the mask with protruding eyes, highlighting its primitive and mysterious religious atmosphere. In contrast, the Jinsha site has yielded a large number of exquisite gold and jade artifacts, including a gold sun bird ornament, a gold mask, and jade cong, demonstrating both craftsmanship and restraint. According to statistics, over 40 gold artifacts and over 900 jade artifacts have been unearthed at the Jinsha site. Furthermore, the Jinsha site has also yielded tons of ivory and numerous wild boar tusks and deer antlers; the sheer quantity of these animal-related artifacts is rare among ancient Chinese capital sites. Overall, the Jinsha site has yielded a greater number of artifacts, and their categorization differs significantly from that of Sanxingdui.

A highly recommended museum to visit. As a national museum, it not only boasts a vast collection of artifacts but also offers unique services and a variety of charming cultural and creative products. Volunteer guide Ms. Yuan's explanations were particularly excellent and captivating!
The immersive historical dialogue far exceeded expectations. The legend of the stone rhinoceros controlling the flood, the entertainment life of the Han Dynasty behind the pottery jester figurines, and the craftsmanship of the openwork gilded sachet were all told in detail. It even connected the cultural relics of the Chengdu Museum with the civilization of Sanxingdui and Jinsha sites, turning the scattered exhibits into a coherent historical scroll of ancient Shu.

It was really pretty and easy to navigate ☺️. I would combine it with a trip to the Chengdu panda base because it’s near each other 🐼
Highly recommended! Highly recommended! I went there on October 1, 2025. The vast sea of lilies and butterfly flowers was absolutely stunning. The area is very clean, well-equipped, and has a variety of snacks. It's worth a visit. Different flowers bloom in each season, and the scenery is different throughout the year.

The Chengdu Natural History Museum is an absolute treasure trove! The 24-meter-long Mamenchisaurus skeleton from Hechuan is breathtaking, its 80% fossil content showcasing its immense age. The three main exhibits each offer something to see: the metallic luster of the Longchang iron meteorite and the complete form of the Dazhu Chongqing fish fossil both inspire awe at the wonders of nature. The exhibition layout is clear, tracing the evolution of geology and the origins of life. Cutting-edge technologies like AR interactive exhibits and VR panda adventures make science education incredibly engaging. The butterfly wall is dazzling, the gem hall is shimmering, and the rare animal specimens are lifelike. Free stamp collection, convenient baggage storage facilities, a variety of nearby snacks, and direct subway access make it incredibly convenient. Whether for family study tours or solo exploration, visitors can immerse themselves in the history and vitality of Earth, leaving with a sense of awe and enrichment—definitely worth visiting again and again!
It's a pretty good museum. The facilities are modern, the service is good, and the exhibits are plentiful. I saw huge dinosaurs, and many other animals from the modern era. The biodiversity of Sichuan and Chongqing is truly impressive.

Chongqing Happy Valley is quite fun, and even more kid-friendly than Shanghai's Happy Valley. The kids had a blast, and my girlfriends had a blast too. There's even a makeup area! The NPCs there are so pretty and cool! Highly recommended! Chongqing Happy Valley! Whether it's Halloween 🎃👻 or just any other time! Let's go!
Okay, here's my review of Chongqing Happy Valley, condensed to under 500 words: Chongqing Happy Valley Highlights 🎢 Recommended Highlights ✨ 1. Unique Mountain Coasters: · "Wings Soaring" Wing Coaster: Soar through the air, nestled against the mountains and water, for a visual and sensory thrill! 🔥 · "Jungle Dragon" Wooden Roller Coaster: The wooden structure delivers a wild and raw thrill, zipping through the mountains and forests for a thrilling ride! 🤘 2. "Top of Chongqing" Ferris Wheel: 🎡 One of the tallest Ferris wheels in Southwest China, overlooking Lijia and the mountain city skyline. The evening and night views are stunning, a must-try for a romantic getaway! 🌆 3. Rich Themed Festival Atmosphere: Events like the Halloween Haunted House 👻 and the Summer Electronic Music Party 🎶 are incredibly popular and well-themed, making them worth a special trip. Things to Note ⚠️ · Physically challenging: The park is built on a hillside, and the entire ride involves climbing a mountain 😫. Be sure to wear comfortable sneakers! 👟 · Long queues: Popular rides often require a 1-2 hour wait on holidays. We recommend planning ahead using the official app 📱. · Weather: Summer is hot 🥵, so be sure to wear sunscreen. Winter is cloudy and rainy 🌧️, so some rides may be closed. Helpful Tips 🗺️ · Visit on a weekday for a less crowded experience. · Go for the featured rides as soon as the park opens to save time in line. · Bring your own sealed snacks and water; food and beverage prices are relatively high. Summary: Chongqing Happy Valley, with its unique mountain roller coaster and high-quality festivals, offers a unique thrilling experience, making it a must-see for amusement park lovers seeking a thrilling experience! 💯

It is easy to travel from Chunxi Road to Panda Garden via the shuttle bus. The shuttle bus stops in front of Qingcheng Mountain train station and you just need to walk over to the bus interchange to take Bus 102 directly to the panda base. My purpose was to see Lele, so I walked all the way up the mountain. You can also take an internal shuttle bus that ferries visitors from the base of the mountain to the top where Lele is. The place seems spacious and the weather was nice and cool when I went in early Nov. However, the visitors can get rather rowdy and noisy, especially those student or elderly groups. They have the tendency to talk loudly and shout at the pandas if they are not moving or sleeping. Sometimes, even the local tour guides join in the shouting while the security guards are trying to keep the noise level down. Other than that, it is actually quite relaxing to walk around and admire the pandas. P.S. The sausage sold at the store near Lele's enclosure is very delicious!
It was difficult to communicate to the taxi driver the address of the Panda Reserve. At first he brought us to the Panda Base near the town. So we went in Circles until my husband foud the photo of the address in Tripadvisor. But it was worth all the hassle because our children enjoyed seeing the Pandas up close... including the red pandas.
