Life is a book of islands, composed of 126 islands and 702 reefs, known as "a thousand reefs and a hundred islands."
Main Island Area: Haitan Island, the main island, covers approximately 267 square kilometers, making it the largest island in Fujian Province and the fifth largest island in China.
Geographical Location: It faces the Taiwan Strait to the east, only about 68 nautical miles from Hsinchu, Taiwan; to the west, across the Haitan Strait, it faces Changle, Fuqing, and Putian in Fujian Province.
Climate Characteristics: Subtropical maritime climate, with mild winters and cool summers, and abundant sunshine. However, typhoon activity is relatively frequent.
Core Landscapes: Coastal erosion landforms (such as Banyang Stone Sail and Fairy Well), beaches (such as Tannan Bay and Haitan Bay), ancient stone houses, and the Blue Tears spectacle.
