The restaurant is in the East Lake Scenic Area. There is a parking space at the door. The three-hour parking is free for dining. I went to the Hubei Provincial Museum in the morning. After visiting, I rushed here for lunch. The two places are very close. After eating, I just went to visit the East Lake. The weather was bad and I didn’t walk far. The scenery is not very good, but it is quite quiet. It is good for digestion. If you are tired, you can go to a nearby coffee shop or teahouse to sit.
Talking about the dishes, the strawberries and sesame cakes before the meal are worthy of the positioning of a high-end restaurant. The roots of the strawberries were cut off, which looked clean and average in sweetness. However, it seems that strawberries are almost like this this year.
The dish I am most satisfied with is the jade fish balls. This fish ball soup is a classic Hubei dish. Now most restaurants cut corners and use pre-made broth, which I am very disgusted with. It is rare that the clear soup used by Lakeside Guest House is also available for one person. I must try it. As a local high-end restaurant, it not only upgraded the ingredients, but also combined the methods of Huaiyang cuisine. The meatballs made by hand with catfish and fat meat are delicious in taste and seasoning. The clear soup is delicious, and even the small peas are so fresh that they can squeeze out water. I like it very much.
The most praised by my friends is the chopped pepper fish head. The steaming temperature is just right, the marinating is also in place, and the chopped pepper has a layered feeling.
Their steamed meatballs are also good. The first chopsticks have a good taste, the taste is light, and there is a faint fragrance of zong leaves when hot. It is recommended to order small portions of this dish, otherwise it will not be finished if there are few people. The taste will deteriorate in all aspects when it is cold.
Finally, out of curiosity, I ordered a turtle bun. In fact, the turtle meat and skirt are deboned and made into stuffing. Of course, it is not bad, but there is no unexpected taste. I will not want to eat it again. As for the bun skin, the flour is definitely not bad at this price, but the buns without old noodles always feel not fragrant enough.
In terms of service, there are more waiters than customers, and their attitude is impeccable, but the service standard and professionalism need to be improved. For example, considering the long wait time for hot dishes, I ordered a cold dish, but the fish soup came first and then the sugar lotus root, which made the cold dish lose its meaning. If this happened in a high-end restaurant in Shanghai, I would definitely ask for the cold dish to be free of charge. Of course, the overall consumption level in Wuhan is relatively close to the people, and the so-called black pearls are not expensive, so think about it and lower your expectations.
