The pinnacle of Chinese suspended sculpture art: Xiaoxitian Temple's fame stems almost entirely from the Ming Dynasty colored suspended sculptures within its Main Hall. The walls, beams, and roofs of the hall are densely packed with thousands of Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, apsaras, birds, animals, and pavilions, leaving barely a single space between, creating a complete, flourishing, and magnificent "Western Paradise."
"Such a scene should only exist in heaven": When you open the doors of the Main Hall, the sight before you is breathtaking. The entire hall is resplendent with golden splendor, and the colorful sculptures hang suspended in the air, seemingly defying gravity. Celestial music lingers, and auspicious clouds drift by. The complexity, exquisiteness, and grandeur of this place exceed many people's imagination.
Secluded and precious: Due to its relatively remote location (in Xi County, Linfen City, Shanxi Province), it is sparsely visited. This, in turn, preserves the tranquility and solemnity of this sacred place. Uninterrupted, you can gaze up and admire this magnificent art, an experience rarely found in more popular tourist destinations.
