The Yungang Grottoes are a must-see! The sculptures at the Yungang Grottoes are a living example of the "fusion of Hu and Han cultures," combining the ruggedness of the steppe peoples with the refinement of Central Plains culture. Early sculptures, influenced by the Gandhara style (a fusion of Greek and Indian Buddhist sculpture), feature high noses, deep eyes, and large, shoulder-length ears, a distinctly foreign aesthetic, as seen in the Five Tan Yao Grottoes. The middle period, while retaining some foreign influences, gradually incorporated elements of Central Plains culture. This fusion of diverse cultures resulted in a dazzling array of lines and carvings. Later sculptures exhibited a simpler, more Chinese style, approaching the artistic style of the Southern Dynasties.
The young man was very responsible and his explanation was very interesting. Since the family went out with the elderly and children, the young man was always helping to look after them. He also reminded everyone to be careful and safe and answered our questions in detail. We learned a lot of knowledge and the historical value of the cultural relics was fully reflected.

There are guided tours at the scenic area's west gate for 120 yuan. The tour guide suggested hiring a car, as Pingyao Ancient City is quite large and walking on your own would be tiring. The tour took two hours. The tour guide will take you to buy vinegar at the end, but you can choose not to. The entire ancient city is rich in history.
Pingyao Ancient City has received polarized reviews from tourists. Some consider it overly commercialized and poorly managed, while others praise its historical and cultural value and unique experiences. Major Highlights Historical and Cultural Heritage: The ancient city is well-preserved, boasting historical sites such as the city walls, the county government office, and the Confucian Temple, allowing visitors to experience the layout of an ancient county town. ‌‌12 Special Experiences: Travel photography, traditional costume rentals, and the "See You Again Pingyao" performance are highly recommended for their immersive nature.

The Jin Temple Museum is a treasure trove of history and culture. Its ancient architecture is exquisitely crafted, with examples like the Holy Mother Hall and the Fish Pond Flying Bridge showcasing the ingenuity of ancient craftsmen. The statues of maids are lifelike, telling stories of the past. A stroll through the museum feels like a journey through time. It is an essential window into the culture of Shanxi and is a truly worthwhile experience.
The Jin Temple includes the Jin Temple Park and the Jin Temple Museum, both of which are quite large. Jin Temple Park: Free, very large, and worth an hour or two. The scenery in the East Garden is particularly beautiful. Jin Temple Museum: ¥80. The Holy Mother Hall, Zhou Cypress, and Nanlao Spring are all located together, so you can complete the visit in a little over an hour. Guidebooks are available for rental at the entrance for ¥30, one for each of two people.

It was truly stunning. Standing at the foot of the tower, thinking about how it has stood for 969 years, it felt like a journey through time. Seeing the second and third floors tilt slightly, I truly felt the sadness of seeing one less. A must-see attraction!
The Yingxian Wooden Pagoda is truly breathtaking! Even though we arrived in the evening, I was still struck by the sight. The thousand-year-old wooden pagoda stands majestically, its intricate mortise and tenon joint structure looking even more impressive in the twilight. The sense of history and architectural wonder washed over me, making it completely worth the wait. I especially want to praise the scenic spot's thoughtfulness. They even extended their opening hours during the holiday to accommodate late arrivals. Otherwise, we would have missed this awe-inspiring experience. This was truly thoughtful! Although we only managed an evening tour, the wooden pagoda's details and ancient atmosphere have left a lasting impression on me. It's an absolute must-see in Yingxian County. Highly recommended!

The Hanging Temple, a true architectural marvel, was first built during the Northern Wei Dynasty and has stood for over 1,500 years on the cliffs of Cuiping Peak in Hengshan Mountain. Built on a foundation of half-inserted beams, it cleverly utilizes rock supports and utilizes mechanical principles. The ingenious design of brackets and mortise and tenon joints reveals the wisdom of the ancients. The temple boasts buildings of varying heights, connected by plank roads, creating an ingenious layout. This temple, a blend of Confucianism, Buddhism, and Taoism, embodies a unique religious and cultural atmosphere. Standing on the plank roads within the temple, one can gaze upon the abyss beneath, the ancient temple beside them, and the soaring eaves overhead, creating breathtaking scenery.
The scenic area is quite small, and if you don't climb up, you can see it all in half an hour. Don't use the navigation system to navigate to the Hanging Temple, as it will direct you to the parking lot and then take a shuttle bus up. Instead, drive directly to the foot of the mountain, where there's parking available. The walk up only takes about ten minutes, and the scenery along the way is quite nice.

We tried the Bigfoot ride and the camel ride. The Bigfoot ride was incredibly thrilling, like a desert roller coaster. The kids had a blast rolling around in the sand. We wouldn't have wanted to leave if it hadn't been dark. They sell rice inside, 20 or 30 yuan per portion, and it was pretty good.

The Huanghuagou Grassland Resort in Ulanqab, Chahar Right Middle Banner, Ulanqab City, Inner Mongolia, lies within the northern Yinshan Mountains and the eastern Daqing Mountains. With an average altitude of 2,100 meters and a circumference of 600 square kilometers, it is one of the world's three largest alpine flower meadows and the closest Inner Mongolian grassland to Beijing. With a vegetation coverage rate exceeding 90% and an average summer temperature of 18°C, the scenic area is known as a "Heavenly Grassland, a Cool Paradise." As a National AAAA-level tourist attraction, it boasts six core attractions, including the Huanghuagou Flower Grassland and the Volcanic Rock Canyon. Combining grassland scenery, geological wonders, and Mongolian Yuan culture, it is ideal for families, outdoor enthusiasts, and those seeking immersive cultural experiences.
The grasslands are beautiful and expansive. The streams flowing through the valleys of Huanghuagou are particularly charming. Unfortunately, heavy rain the day before yesterday forced the cancellation of a scenic spot along the valley's stream. The scenic area's cable car is quite good, saving a lot of energy and offering beautiful views.

The Jokhang Temple is very big and crowded. When you go out, you will see Saishang Old Street. There are many things to eat and play. The commercial atmosphere is also quite strong, but the prices of the items are relatively reasonable. The freshly baked yogurt cake is delicious.
This is my second time visiting the Jokhang Temple in Hohhot. I think it is still worth a visit. The facilities in the temple are also very friendly. There are rest tables and chairs everywhere, so tired tourists can rest.

Although I have seen the introduction and pictures of Xiaoxitian in various introductions, when you are really there and see the layers of different sizes and colorful Western Paradise, you will still be shocked by it. You must go there, no matter how far away you are.
Xiaoxitian Temple is very nice, but it is not a good idea to go there with a tour group. There are too many people in a group, and Xiaoxitian Temple is very small, so it is too crowded. Moreover, group tours almost always go to Xiaoxitian in the afternoon, and the light is not suitable for taking photos. It is recommended to go to Xiaoxitian in the morning.

Arriving at Huayan Temple before 9am, I was already surrounded by long lines and a throng of tourists. The Liao-style main hall is still very grand and majestic. The murals newly created by the Central Academy of Fine Arts are clearer, while the ancient murals are not very clear if viewed entirely by natural light.
A visit to Huayan Temple is a must. It is the largest of the three remaining Liao Dynasty temples. It boasts the largest main hall in China, the Main Hall. It also boasts the largest glazed gargoyles in China, dating from the Ming and Jin dynasties, on the Main Hall. It houses the small wooden pavilion in the Bhagavatsa Hall, a Buddhist sutra storage cabinet that Liang Sicheng called "a unique piece in China." It also boasts the colorful sculpture of the Buddha, known as the "Venus of the East," with her hands clasped together and a smile on her face.
