The last time I visited the Shenyang Palace Museum was a few years ago. It was winter and there were fewer people, so I was able to complete the tour quickly. This summer, I brought my children and hired a guide. Guide Hao was really good 👍. He was interesting and patient, integrating history into the architecture and exhibits. My family and children all liked it and learned a lot!
The weather was beautiful, but the crowds were overwhelming, and it was hot and crowded. Thankfully, our guide, Xiao Chen from Miyagi International Travel, was humorous and the elderly man didn't complain while waiting in line, so we had a very fulfilling three hours.

This is the former residence of a prominent figure in modern Northeast China. I definitely want to take my mom to see it.
It's definitely worth a visit, but during the summer vacation, the crowds were so intense that the steps of the Grand Blue Building were packed. I was worried about getting a heat stroke, so I didn't go inside. Miss Zhao Si's residence is also beautiful.
Go during busy times for a better experience.
The figures are very lifelike, well-made, quite interesting, and lifelike. The children had a blast. The history of currency, from ancient times to the present day, is very educational.

The Mountain Resort lives up to its reputation. Although we went there in autumn, it was still shaded by green trees, with beautiful scenery and a large space. There are mountains, water and cruise ships. It was a lot of fun to take the children there!
If you haven't been there, you must go and see it. If you have been there, it's just like that! It's too big and you need to take a shuttle bus! There are a lot of people during the summer vacation! Parking is difficult (unless it's early in the morning or in the evening)

The dolphin show is very popular and always full. If you don't go early, there will be no seats. We waited for the show to end and went in directly, but it was full in a short time. Fantawild's attractions are amazing! The roller coaster is so thrilling, the 4D cinema is incredibly realistic, the scenery is dreamy and out of this world, and the staff are so welcoming. One day is definitely not enough!

Shanhaiguan is a must-visit when visiting Qinhuangdao. This was my second time there, driving from Beijing. It was already 2 p.m. when I arrived. I went straight to the scenic area, but the parking lot was a bit far. I bought a package ticket for two adults and one child on Ctrip. It was convenient and quick. I could just scan my provincial ID or QR code, skipping the line and saving on water. The scenery was quite nice once inside, and the area was relatively clean. Climbing the city wall and gazing out over the mountains beyond the pass was a breathtaking sight. I hadn't had time to explore the ancient city before I headed to my next attraction, Laolongtou.

The Dalian Forest Zoo is definitely worth a visit. The entire zoo is nestled against a mountainside, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. After entering the South Zone (free-range area), you'll see the pandas. Then, walk to the free-range area to see herbivores, and then into a valley to see bears, lions, and tigers. The North Zone requires an escalator, which we didn't use. The zoo is so vast that it would take a full day to explore. The animals had plenty of free space to roam freely, and the atmosphere was delightful. However, the hot weather meant the animals were forced to roam outdoors, which made them a bit lazy.
Very good, very good experience. Sanitary, complete facilities. Super clean. Dalian is such a great city, I love it. I look forward to staying here again next time.

The experience was average, with a queue of about three hours. The cable car ride took about 10 minutes one way, and the boat ride back took about 10 minutes.
The scenic area lacks amenities, the queues are poorly organized, and queue-jumping is common.
The sanitation was poor.
As a cableway, while it's just a cableway, it's incredibly meaningful. Feeling the salty sea breeze from the sea while gazing at the sandy shore is a truly captivating experience. Despite the two-hour line, it's still worth it. I recommend going early in the morning and queuing for the return trip right after getting off the cableway (this only takes about 20 minutes; if you wait a little longer, an hour, or even later, you're not sure how long the line will be). Of course, if you have more time, you can explore the area and take photos. The island snacks are clearly priced, so a bit of a premium is understandable, as they have to be transported to the island. If you buy tickets on-site, you only need to buy the cableway. Online, you must include the boat tour, but the boat tour has a fixed schedule. I couldn't catch the 9:00 am ticket, and I couldn't wait for the 10:30 pm ticket, so I gave up. What a waste!

The waters of Bangchuidao are incredibly clear and clean, arguably the cleanest in Dalian. I'd read reviews saying the waters at Jinshitan, farther from the city, were cleaner, so I took a taxi for over an hour to get there. The waters there were similar to those in Beidaihe and Nandaihe—all sandy and muddy. The Bangchuidao coastline is artificially maintained, with many pebbles, and the sand must have been buried underneath, so the waters are very clean. However, the area is small, and the sightseeing buses enter and exit through the south gate. My speedboat driver had previously told me that the north gate would lead to Haizhiyun. I did some research and found the walk to the north gate is nearly 2 kilometers. Then, to Haizhiyun, it's definitely for those with a good stamina.
The total visit lasted about three hours (including finding the way, taking photos, and walking out of the park).
The water was crystal clear!! There were so many small animals!!
Hai Zhi Yun really took my feet off. The hike was hot and tiring. While the water was clear, the beach was small and crowded. I highly recommend Bangchuidao over Hai Zhi Yun! It's the most beautiful beach I've ever seen in Dalian. You can grab a mat and lie on the beach, enjoying the breeze, the sound of the waves and the chirping of seagulls, and the sun. It's so relaxing.

It's worth a visit. The venue is divided into four halls, which effectively staggers the crowds. However, it can still be quite crowded during peak tourist months. The venue is generally good, though it's a bit dated after 30 years. The screens in the Polar Hall show are stained and could use some repairs. I think more attention could be paid to enhancing the overall theme. The marine life is really good, and I especially like the beluga whales, which are super cute. The underwater tunnel is also very photogenic.
