I have been to Yueyang Tower twice. This time I took my child there, mainly to let him understand the artistic conception of "Yueyang Tower Inscription" and the patriotic feelings of Fan Zhongyan and Teng Zijing!
Children under 14 are free, which is great.
It's really hot in the summer, and by 8 a.m. there were already quite a few people there. Climbing up Yueyang Tower and looking out, I saw that the water of Dongting Lake was quite murky. The "green snail" on Junshan Mountain was actually flat. I really admire the imagination of the ancients.
Those who don't want to retrace their steps can exit through the North Gate, but the location shown on Gaode is different from the actual location. The North Gate is now located "by the lake," requiring you to "walk down the mountain," exit the gate, and then "walk up the mountain" to reach the roadside.

I thought the pandas would sleep at noon in such a hot day, but unexpectedly, the silly pandas ate and slept, and slept and ate, repeating this over and over again. They are cute when they are fat. 😄 So if you want to take pictures, just wait for a while and take pictures when they wake up. You can also walk back and go back to see the pandas waking up. They are all very cute. The park also provides homemade ice water for tourists for free, which is very friendly. Although the park is not big, the national treasures are worth visiting wherever they are! 😘
There are so many giant pandas, which is a better experience than the Chengdu Giant Panda Base. The pandas are basically outdoors. There are not as many people as in Chengdu, and everyone can be seen up close.

The Giant Panda Garden is awesome! There are 10 giant pandas, including a pair of panda sisters. They are so energetic. It is such a blessing to see giant pandas in Hunan.
There was not much water in Dongting Lake at this time, and there were large areas of reeds growing around the island. I took the ferry to Junshan Island. There are a lot of tea plantations planted on the island. As a tea lover, I also bought some Junshan yellow tea from the core production area.

Watching the sunset on Dongting Lake is very beautiful. Yueyang is a small city. The biggest highlight for tourists is this lake. Looking at the green mountains and waters of Dongting Lake from afar, the scenery is still good. I didn’t take a cruise when I went there. One reason was that I didn’t want to spend money. The other reason was that I thought it was enough to watch the scenery by the lake. There was no need to spend money to go on the lake. But of course, this depends on personal preference.
We walked through a small ancient street and came to a square. Finally, we arrived at the Dongting Lake. Maybe it was the dry season, but it was better than Poyang Lake! The photos by the lake were not published because there were people in them. I don't know why the lake water was so turbid and not very clean?
