The Zhangjiakou Fort Scenic Area is a small fortress that has survived in Zhangjiakou City. Its interior is actually the old city of Zhangjiakou. While there's no major restoration and preservation work going on, only targeted, small areas have been restored and preserved. Numerous ancient architectural remains remain, including the Jade Emperor Pavilion, Wenchang Pavilion, Luncai Academy, Koupi Museum, Guandi Temple, and General Ding's Mansion. The entire Zhangjiakou Fort Scenic Area is relatively small, allowing you to explore and admire all the ancient buildings in just over two hours. Multiple bus stops are located near the east entrance. Most importantly, the area hasn't been completely commercialized, and its ancient charm remains strong.
