Dajingmen Scenic Area, located at the northern end of Zhangjiakou City, is a gate on the Great Wall, situated between the East and West Taiping Mountains. It holds the key to the border, boasting a strategic location and a long-standing battleground for military strategists. Cultural History: Construction began in 1644, the first year of the Shunzhi reign of the Qing Dynasty. The foundations can be traced back to the construction of the Great Wall in 1485, the 21st year of the Chenghua reign of the Ming Dynasty. It is considered one of the four famous passes of the Great Wall, along with Shanhaiguan, Jiayuguan, and Juyongguan. Gate Structure: 12 meters high, 13 meters long at the base, and 9 meters wide. Its base is made of stone slabs and its structure is made of blue bricks. The wooden and iron gates are original remains from the Qing Dynasty. Signature Plaque: The four characters "大好河山" (Great Rivers and Mountains) on the gate lintel were inscribed by Gao Weiyue, the governor of Chahar, in 1927 (read backwards as "山河好大"). ‌ Defense System: Combined with the West Taiping Mountain Great Wall and Laiyuan Fort, it forms a complete defense system. Remains include Northern Wei Dynasty beacon towers, Ming and Qing Dynasty enemy towers, and water gate ruins. Main Attractions: Guanmen Tower, West Taiping Mountain Great Wall, Dajingmen Great Wall Museum, Laiyuan Fort Ruins, etc. Now a National 4A-level Tourist Scenic Area. ------------------------ Opening Hours: 8:00 AM - 5:30 PM. Admission: 13 RMB. Transportation Information: (For reference only) Bus: From the city: Buses 2, 13, 16, 32, and 301 go directly to the scenic area. Self-driving Tours: Directions: Dajingmen Scenic Area Parking Lot.
It is one of the four famous passes of the Great Wall. It is my first time here. I am especially impressed by the four bold characters "Great Rivers and Mountains" on the Dajing Gate. I have seen this gate in many movies and TV dramas. Now I am there in person, and I can still recall the busy scenes of Sino-foreign trade inside and outside the Dajing Gate. This is a fortress with such an important geographical location. It is well worth a visit.

The tree flower beating in Nuanquan Ancient Town, Wei County, is a non-legacy project. It is a great experience. It is only available on weekends. It is said that this master has been passed down for 12 generations. It is really wonderful. The whole performance is about 50 minutes, with singing and dancing and homestay display in the middle.
Walking on the ancient road, looking at the deep ruts on both sides, lamenting the wonderful dialogue of time and space. I strolled through the ancient street, stepped on the historical slabs, felt the footprints of the ancestors, every step was a vision of history. The road under my feet, six hundred years ago, some people also stepped foot, what kind of mood did they then? Those old gray brick houses, ancient city walls, as if talking about the glory and loneliness.

Chongli's scenery is truly stunning. This was my first time in Fulong. Compared to Cuiyun Mountain and Taiwu, it's more suitable for children. The White Bear Park is quite large, and the attractions are all within easy reach. The underground shopping mall is quite large, but everything was closed. Compared to other attractions, it's a very good value.
Scan the QR code to get on the cable car directly. There are two cable car stations on the mountain, which can be used interchangeably. The sky view is good. It would be better if it is sunny. It is best to go up the mountain in the morning and go against the light in the afternoon.

We spent two days exploring Weizhou Ancient City. The first day was a night tour, where we rode a shared e-bike to visit Wanshan Tower, Nan'an Temple Pagoda, and the Weizhou Government Office. The second day was a daytime visit, focusing on the Jade Emperor Pavilion. The city's ancient buildings are well-preserved, and there are few attractions, all very affordable. [Scenery] The weather was slightly cool during the Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, and the ancient city was serene under the moonlight, with beautiful illuminations.
Just in time for the night light meeting, artificial landscape, there are still a lot of people watching the light meeting, so the night view is still quite beautiful. In the ancient city that I have been to in the north, it is still a bit colorful. In addition to the effect of the night light effect, the ancient city exudes confused colors, it is worth visiting 1. Jixian is not bad! 【Cost-effective】

The Zhangjiakou Fort Scenic Area is a small fortress that has survived in Zhangjiakou City. Its interior is actually the old city of Zhangjiakou. While there's no major restoration and preservation work going on, only targeted, small areas have been restored and preserved. Numerous ancient architectural remains remain, including the Jade Emperor Pavilion, Wenchang Pavilion, Luncai Academy, Koupi Museum, Guandi Temple, and General Ding's Mansion. The entire Zhangjiakou Fort Scenic Area is relatively small, allowing you to explore and admire all the ancient buildings in just over two hours. Multiple bus stops are located near the east entrance. Most importantly, the area hasn't been completely commercialized, and its ancient charm remains strong. [Value for Money]
It is open to the public free of charge and worth a visit. There are not many tourists during the Qingming Festival, and the experience is good. Zhangjiakou Fort was built in the fourth year of Ming Xuande (1429) and is the historical origin of Zhangjiakou City. It became an important military fortress in the Great Wall defense system with the reputation of "Wucheng". Later, with the prosperity of Zhangku Commercial Road, it was transformed into a northern land commercial port. At its peak, the annual trade volume reached 150 million taels of silver, and Shanxi merchants gathered. There are 478 Ming and Qing courtyards and 93 key cultural relics. It integrates military, commercial and multi-ethnic architectural styles and is known as the "Ming and Qing Architecture Museum". Its protection and restoration projects and historical value have made it a national cultural relic protection unit and a 3A scenic spot. It is an important carrier for studying the northern frontier culture and trade development.

Xuanhua Ancient City (National Cultural Relics) Located in Xuanhua District, Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province, it was first built in the Tang Dynasty and expanded in the 27th year of Hongwu in the Ming Dynasty (1394). It is the "first of the nine towns" of the Ming Great Wall. The square is about 12 kilometers in circumference and has 7 city gates. There is a pass outside the gate, surrounded by a city wall, and a moon city outside the city wall. Corner towers are built at the four corners of the city. There are moats, moats, suspension bridges, etc. outside the city. It is an important part of the Great Wall defense system. Famous attractions Gongji Tower, also known as Nanmen Tower, was built on the Changping Gate of the southern city wall of Xuanhua. It was first built during the Yongle period of the Ming Dynasty. It is 24 meters high with the city wall, and there are north-south archways below. Zhenshuo Tower, also known as Drum Tower, was built in the fifth year of Zhengtong in the Ming Dynasty (1440). It is hung with a large plaque with the words "Shenjing Pinghan" written by Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty, implying that Xuanhua is the barrier of Beijing. The frame of the large plaque is carved with clouds and mosquito dragons in different states going out to sea. Located on the central axis of Xuanhua District, it echoes Gongji Tower in the south and Qingyuan Tower in the north. Like Qingyuan Tower, it is 25 meters high. Qingyuan Tower is located in the center of Xuanhua Ancient City. It is also known as the Bell Tower. It is built on an 8-meter-high cross arch. The building has 3 floors on the outside and 2 floors on the inside. It is 25 meters high, with 3 bays and 6 tower rafters. On the second floor, there is a "Xuanfu Town Bell" cast in the 18th year of Jiajing in the Ming Dynasty (1539). It is 2.5 meters high, 1.7 meters in diameter, and weighs about 10,000 kilograms. There are corridors around it, and the roof is enameled with green glazed tiles. It forms an axis with Zhenshuo Tower and Gongji Tower in the city. Xuanhua City Wall is a large-scale structure built outside Xuanfu Town during the Ming Dynasty, which was a "unified town and vassal state". Its overall scale, wall size, brick specifications, gate structure, etc. all correspond to the urban system and military status of Xuanfu Town at that time. It is not only an outstanding example of city wall construction in northern China from the 14th to the 19th century, but also a material representation of the peak of Xuanhua's city wall construction technology, which began at the end of the 8th century at the latest, and shows an important stage in the development of China's city wall function system and construction technology. Historical Events During the "Tumubao Incident" in the Ming Dynasty, the story of "Zhengtong calling the pass" took place under the Gongji Tower. In the "Tumu Incident" in the 14th year of the Zhengtong Period of the Ming Dynasty (1449), Emperor Yingzong Zhu Qizhen was captured by the Grand Tutor Yesen of the Mongolian Wala tribe. Yesen took Zhu Qizhen to Xuanhua and knocked on the city gate. The soldiers guarding the city began to waver. At the critical moment, Yang Hong, the general soldier stationed in Xuanhua, and Luo Hengxin, the governor, came to the South Gate with swords and issued a strict order that "those who leave the city will be beheaded", and the soldiers and civilians of Xuanhua were saved. Strategy Transportation: Xuanhua Station (small and quiet), Xuanhua North Station, Zhangjiakou Station and other buses are available. Ticket price: free Accommodation: Specialties milk grapes, grilled lamb chops, agate. Accommodation recommendation: "Shangkeyou Hotel" near Gongji Tower, located at the first place on the central axis of the scenic spot, with a pedestrian street and night market at the door. Route: Xuanhua Station, Daxinmen, Xuanhua Museum, Catholic Church, Gongji Tower (lunch break until 14:00), Zhenshuo Tower (lunch break), Shien Temple (lunch break until 15:00), Qingyuan Tower (lunch break), Wulongbi, Fozhen Lynx Yilonita. Season: May-October Time: 0.5-1 day Surroundings: 70 kilometers from Tumubao Ruins; "Dajingmen Scenic Area" in the city can be seen; Zhangbei "Grassland Sky Road" is suitable for self-driving. Equipment: The temperature difference is large, bring a coat.
The third floor is on the first line, Saiwai famous city; two gardens and one river, the scenery is infinite! Listening to the melodious bells upstairs in Qingyuan, I will remember the past of the iron horse Jinge! On the arch upstairs, overlooking the tall buildings, I feel the booming present. Walking in the misty rain-style Wanliu Park in Jiangnan, I crossed to the south of the Yangtze River thousands of miles away, the small bridge and flowing water family, go to the clove girl with a oil paper umbrella!
