It is a cultural heritage of the Russian Federation and a symbol of the October Revolution of 1917. The Aurora was originally an armored cruiser of the Baltic Fleet of the Russian Empire. This legendary cruiser has experienced three revolutions and four wars, and is famous for participating in the October Socialist Revolution in Russia. "Aurora" means "dawn" or "sunrise", and in ancient Roman mythology it refers to the goddess of dawn.



The State Russian Museum, Mikhailovsky Palace

It is located at 4 Engineering Street in St. Petersburg and is one of the must-see attractions in St. Petersburg. Designed by architect Rossi and built for Tsar Paul I's Crown Prince Mikhail, the building itself is a masterpiece of Russian neoclassical architecture in the early 19th century.


