Ferries connect toMartha’s Vinyard and Block Island daily from Quonset Point just down the road, or from PointJudith and the port of Galilee.On the opposite shore of Our small peninsula is the neighborhood boat ramp that AccessesWickford harbor and Mill Cove. With some quick research you may pick up a guest mooring orslip at one of the many Wharfs or Marinas that are also the Mariners gateway to the historicvillage.Our house is located a few minutes walk from the ramp where you can come ashore from thewell protected mooring field. We have our own family history here as well. This is where welearned to sail, swim and experience all the greatness of this area. Our Dad, Joseph did thesame as a boy who then became a sailing Captain of the sea. Years ago he recognized the“perfect place to live” from his boat. He rowed to the ramp, walked up the street and thendiscovered a corner home with a little garage in the back. Dad always loved things that“needed a little work” so 122 Sauga became his new home ashore. The garage has alwaysbeen referred to as “Snorks Place”. Named so by the painted words over the door of thesoon-to-be workshop that always needed work of its own. Dad rebuilt the house and afterthat, replaced the work shack with a top floor apartment. The apartment is still named SnorksPlace or just Snorks as our family and friends refer to it.Dad built Snorks as a cozy and bright get away nest with the feel of a ships cabin with woodfloors and galley kitchenette. You can sit on the deck in the 2 lounger chairs or at the bistro table, you have options! THE BUILDING This apartment is on the 2nd floor and there are 2 other apartments in the building. The apartment is equipped for up to 4 guests, and designed with a central, open-concept kitchen, dining and living area. Despite the thorough renovations of all our apartments, the building itself remains an older structure and is considered unsuitable for young children. However, if your children are 6 years or older and you understand these considerations, we would be happy to accommodate your stay. There is one off-street parking spot available as well. BACKYARD: Welcome to your Urban Oasis in Providence. While the backyard is shared among eight apartments, it still feels like your own private retreat thanks to thoughtful design and cozy nooks. Relax in comfort with lounge chairs arranged around a coffee table—perfect for a game of Jenga.
