I had seen some negative comments about this BMW X1 on Google reviews, and honestly was a bit apprehensive before picking it up. However, after actually using the car, I felt there was a big discrepancy between the reviews and the actual condition of the car. When I picked it up, the owner explained how to operate the car very carefully. As a mechanic, I work with vehicles on a daily basis, and I think it's rare to find a rental car company that is so willing to explain things in such detail from the customer's perspective. When I asked about the past history, I was told that some of the low ratings were for reasons unrelated to the vehicle's condition (a request for a higher grade model free of charge was refused). As for the actual condition of the vehicle, I was unable to confirm any of the issues pointed out in the reviews. The headlights are high-quality LEDs with no issues with light intensity or distribution, and no signs of deterioration. The tires are studless, manufactured in 2025, and both the tread and rubber are in good condition. On Hokkaido's road conditions (icy or packed snow), driving experience can cause some slippage, but I believe this is due to the road surface characteristics and driving technique, rather than a problem with the vehicle's performance. The insurance premiums are also standard for Hokkaido and don't seem particularly high. Even though it was the New Year holidays, the prices were reasonable, and I felt that the shop was trustworthy in terms of both vehicle maintenance and customer service.

Pick up and drop off service was good. The vehicle was an older model Subaru but it performed well in the snow with no issues. It would have been nicer to have new windshield wipers for the heavy snow as it was leaving marks on the windshield. A snow brush would have been nice to have it with the rental car as it was needed throughout the rental period. Overall, had no issues with the rental vehicle and it was fuel efficient as well.

The owners are a happy couple who are warm, attentive, and responsible. From the moment I arrived and added them on WeChat, they provided considerate service throughout the entire process. They even registered a minibus at the airport to pick me up, the only renter arriving at that time. The rental location is less than ten minutes from the airport. In the car, the owners patiently explained the details of driving in Japan, giving me confidence for my upcoming road trip. At the pick-up point, the owners, concerned I might be cold, proactively helped me with all the paperwork. Their procedures were surprisingly simple compared to companies like Toyota Rent a Car; I didn't need to fill out any forms myself, which saved me a lot of trouble. After handing over the car and keys, the owners didn't leave immediately but stayed by the car with me. Later, I realized I didn't know how to set up the Bluetooth, and the owners patiently helped me for over ten minutes until I fully understood. The car itself was fantastic—very new, a beautiful color, and the owner even replaced the tires with excellent ones. In the heavy snow of Hokkaido, when I was in a rush, I saw cars ahead of me skidding on corners at the same speed, but this car navigated smoothly, giving me peace of mind throughout the drive. On the last day of returning the car, I suddenly decided to buy snowboards, which meant I needed to check them in at the airport early, making time a bit tight and potentially preventing me from returning the car. Upon learning this, the owner readily allowed me to return the car at the airport, waiving any extra fees and emphasizing customer-first service. I felt their human touch and warm service truly appreciated. In short, this car rental experience was extremely satisfying, and I highly recommend this boutique car rental company with its friendly atmosphere. I'm sure you'll enjoy the same superb service as I did!

It was great, no problems, lots of cars. The owner was friendly, and he gave me a ride to the airport when I arrived and left, and he even dropped me off after returning the car. It was really nice.

Great experience! The car was great! I'm so glad I rented a car. The snow was so heavy, it would have been impossible to move without one. They gave us a snow tire 4WD car, and the staff were very friendly and explained the precautions carefully. They reminded me to drive slowly and brake gently. Hokkaido is beautiful, I'll definitely come back! Renting a car here is very convenient, I'll definitely rent again!
